  1. Festus/ Arnold area here. Where about are you?
  2. When I catch anything, it was by accident.
  3. No, I have never been on Plattin.
  4. I make it a point to remove trash everytime we go out. My kids used to see it as a chore, but now, they do it without any provocation. Now, I will never make the difference the stream teams do, but my kids will never be the ones contributing to the problem. (At least I hope not).
  5. Thanks Wrench. Always appreciate your knowledge.
  6. I just bought a used motor, 71 Ted Williams 7 HP. I want to rebuild the carburetor. Looking to buy the kit. Thanks. DC
  7. Took my son out for a little bit. Went to a small creek. We got eaten up by the mosquitos. They just about won. We fished a little down from the honey hole we found a few weeks ago. Within 10 casts I had my first one on. It got off. I was using the Zarra Spook Jr again. I really like this lure. I caught a 17 incher and a 13 incher. No real blow ups, just a swirl. My son was fishing Dave's Ned Rig. He caught 3. He is really getting excited about going out. His were 8 inches, 12 inches and we did not measure the other one. We had many chasers. We went out about 6:15, quit just about 8. Not bad for less than 2 hours. Of course, all fish were released instantly. This is a small creek, and I really enjoy the time on it.
  8. BW, I have been here long enough to expect it. Maybe have done it once or twice myself. $80? That's cheap! I gave $500 for mine 13 footer with a 7hp motor. Both with titles. I think I did well. It is quite heavy in and out of my Dakota. Guess I am not as much of a Manas others. Lol.
  9. I have not. I will, thanks for the info. DC
  10. I just bought a 13 foot Gheenoe. It came with a two stroke 7hp motor. I have been reading alot on them, but there is not much on the ozarkan area. Seems like they would be excellent. Does anyone here have experience with one?
  11. Fun times. I appreciate the snake pics also.
  12. So sorry to hear. I was really enjoying the reports. Maybe with the wet summer we had, the flowers will produce and more bees will come your way.
  13. I also LOVE your "Out West Reports" , just in case you were wondering if anyone reads these. :-)
  14. Interested in the....outcome of this story.
  15. Late to respond, thank you. Got a couple. Now I just hope they are comfortable.
  16. Cool event. Shame that it is needed though. I do like the most unusual item idea and the message in a bottle idea.
  17. I figured I would let him reply if he was still offering it. Though I really wasn't 100% sure it was him .
  18. A few years ago, there was a resort owner that had one that people could purchase a membership to use. Not sure if that option still exists. I believe that they are still active on here.
  19. Due to replies on this site, I chose P-line and am very satisfied. I am slowly upgrading all of my equipment from Walmart basic to suggested intro/ every day gear. I use it with a Pflueger President spinning reel.
  20. Nice. He looks a little disappointed though.
  21. I caught a 16 inch spotted bass on a spook. The fish my son caught were on the Ned. He had a few more that he did not set the hook on. He seen them, so they "counted". He beat me 5 to 2. I also caught a tiny green sunfish. I found a good hole last week, and couldn't wait to take them there. We brought along a minnow trap, and used bread. We caught a tiny craw dad, and the minnow my daughter is holding. I didn't get a great picture of it though. She just did not have the patience even with the Ned. She was content finding "seashells", clam shells really. I did have an incident where a small garden was toying with my spook, then while trying to play him, I got snagged on a small stick. Broke the line at the knot. I was able to snag it with a spinner bait. I was relieved. That bait has really been good to me.
  22. Had a good evening at the creek fishing with the kids. Thank you Dave, the Ned made the day.
