We caught a total boat load of fish Saturday. Everyone of them had been previously caught. Never landed a fish in the KC area that did not have a hook hole already in its head.
Got to mean something.
It's sure not a plus, other than they were still swimming in the lake instead of grease to be caught again.

With today’s good equipment I think we feel stuff that used to go unnoticed.
That, and we had more wood cover. Think fish just set up differently, were more aggressive.

Came back on friday after 2 good days earlier in the week. Got to KC smae time as before the ramp parking was full and there were boats running up and down the lake. Same weather as the days before minus a good wind. shouldn't complain too much ,caugth some good fish as before but onlly a third of what we had. Boats everywhere, ant spot I wanted when we arrived was full. Guess you count friday as the weekend
Think the Chicken Derby was in town this week/weekend. It's always a zoo. Good folks, just a lot of them.

Not a hint of any vertical bars, but a subdued yet visible lateral line in the back half of the fish. Would really be interested to know if it had a tongue patch. Also looks like some faint horizontal lines down by the belly.
Nomolites would be a good one to weigh in on this, being a fisheries guy.Not the most obvious cross, but it does look like its mama might have had some secrets.

I saw your White Tundra at Big M a while back - I'm assuming the "money pit" is in tow as opposed to the truck.😁
My neighbor just told me that his 3 year old Nitro pedestal mount just broke and that there is no access to the nuts under the deck.
What in the world?
They had to install it somehow.

"grind"
Easily my least favorite word used to describe fishing, even when it fits.
Pull your hood up, pull it tight, put your head down and "grind" at them in silence.

According to my taxes I’ve towed my 2017 Phoenix close to 120,000 miles. 3rd. set of tires. 3rd. set of brake pads and have not touched the vault bearings.
Replaced the 4 bank charger, then got a deal on a power pole charge so took the new replacement off, if anyone needs a new 4 bank.
Put Lithium batteries in just to do it.
Replaced the original Minn Kota Ultrex with a Garmin as the Ultrex liked to be a fountain water spewed out the head beautifully.Got a new one as a replacement and sold it to put the entire Garmin Panoptic Live Scope system in.
Mercury had a sticky trim switch, replaced under warranty.
Pretty much it. OH, just added a Sea Clear harnesses cable system to the Garmin’s.
Platinum Warranty till June of 2025, so cross my fingers, really nothing but maintenance and stuff I don’t need that I have spent time or money on.
Gosh, I remember seeing that boat when it was brand new- when you had it up at Beck's place.
Time flies.

The part in bold is because the wife and I will be coming down end of next week.
Seems to always storm while we are there.🤣

That seems... excessive.

Yeah, it looks to be damp. At least they didn't leave it at 920' before it happened.

Yup. At least a few of the kids at the party were on high school fishing teams. I think it’s more likely than not that the gear is just in the hands of kids who aren’t thinking about anything other than a free NRX
Might contact their coaches. Most HS programs have pretty strict no alcohol, etc, policies. Might be a path to getting some returned.

I still remember when my mom and dad retired constantly asking. "What day is today anyways?" and I thought that had to be the coolest feeling in the world.
I was right!
Pro tip: In the unlikely event you ever get bored I highly recommend taking a nap!
Off topic, but, umm...you aren't heading down to the lake in the next few weeks, are you Vernon?
Trying to decide how many sets of goretex to pack 😉.

Love the snot.
It's a pain, but fish still live around it.

Did you do any good?
They put way too many grass carp in that lake and those hungry suckers completely wiped out the hydrilla. Since then the bass fishing has tanked on that lake.
Read that the lakes manager got clearance to plant "native vegetation" in the lake. Didn't specify what they mean by "native vegetation".
Soooo, wipe out the vegetation by planting grass carp, and now restore the vegetation by replanting.
😡
Sounds like it's managed by the KS DNR. That's their patented trick.
