  1. I got that same combo ~3 weeks ago. Flu shot first, then Shingrix about an inch away in the same arm. Nausea followed, couldn't eat anything for ~24hrs. Never threw up, just knew if I ate anything I would. Fortunately it was Saturday or I'd have missed a day of work. First reaction I ever had to a vaccine. Really looking forward to the follow-up shot... 🤢
  2. aka cranky Yankees. As soon as one says, "That isn't how we did it back up North...", you know how to reply. 🚌
  3. "They called it paradise, I don't know whyYou call some place paradise, kiss it goodbye" Don Henley & Glenn Frey in The Last Resort
  4. Memorable concerts from the mid-late '70s that I don't remember... The Kinks, JJ Cale, Steve Miller (by himself, he was so drunk he fell off his stool...), Asleep At The Wheel, Grateful Dead, Ozark Mountain Daredevils, Ronny Hawkins (I was so drunk I fell off my stool). Ones I do remember; Billy Joel, the day The Stranger went gold... awesome. The Eagles Hotel Cali tour with Nitty Gritty, Vassar Clements, Linda Ronstadt, Jackson Browne... awesome. John Prine & Iris DeMent... awesome. The Band with the Cate Bros. awesome Guy Clark. awesome By far the best was Little Feat & Tower of Power doing Waiting for Columbus lick-by-lick. Beyond awesome.
  5. I've caught several dozen stripers from 10-25lbs fishing cut shad on the bottom with a std slip sinker catfish rig (from the bank), so I know they will eat off the bottom. (One caveat, the shad must be uber-fresh, day old or frozen won't even get a tap). At the particular time and place I do it, the cut shad outfishes live shad several times over. I've been called numerous names when telling this story, so I understand if you don't believe it, but I did it 10 years in a row, so it's not a fluke.
  6. Back when I ran a trout farm I had weekly wintertime live hauls of 8-10"ers to striper guides across the 4-states. They mostly called them Magic Baits. Most of those guys had shad in live tanks year round too. Disclaimer... I was licensed to sell my trout any way to anyone. Using trout for live bait was only legal in OK at the time. I personally never put a hook in the wrong end of one. That's my story and I'm sticking to it.
  7. Everything else equal, yes. Add up the amps till you reach the circuit rating, whether fuse or breaker.

    What's Cooking?

Last time I was at Winsteads (1980?) was to pull an all-nighter remodel and equipment changeout. 2-3 guys from every trade were there, stepping in and out as needed. I was changing out the pass-thru heater when they removed the counter and stools. I've never seen as many cockroaches in one place in my life, the floor was black with them. No biggie I guess, that was a long time ago. They're surely all dead by now...

    Walleye

Good location for that. "Large concentrations" are pretty rare. Find the shad. Until the water cools, fast troll (2-4 mph) weighted cranks or harnesses 2-3 ft above the thermocline to cover water. When you pick one up, give it another pass, but no more, they're scattered and moving. Except when they're not.
  12. Hmmm... since 4 stroke outboards have a thermostat that doesn't open till 150-160 degrees... 😏
  13. Those things are real. I found out a little too late after I married one.
