  1. Feds want to impose on the states, nothing new there really - although a quite valid reason to carefully consider where you choose to live. i.e., California…despite their favorable climate, not a chance - they make the Feds look conservative and fiscally responsible. Mike
  2. Takes a little practice, a good razor blade, and GSP. It also helps to start with good spinning hair. Mike
  3. You will shortly pass the point of no return…. Mike
  4. That is awesome, thanks for sharing! Mike
  5. I had significantly improved hole shot on a 70hp Johnson on a 16’ aluminum bass boat…top end not much. Mike
  6. Agree. Boat control was the game changer for me. I spent A LOT of time working from the back deck these days than I ever did and I catch more fish to boot. The Link functionality is also very nice when bouncing for walleye. I can easily run four rods trolling by myself and have complete awareness and control. Like anything, there are quirks to figure out but I love this stuff. Mike
  7. Never have enjoyed video games, but I DO like SI/DI/GPS so I can take a pass and see what’s up, mark if desired, and then go back and fish based on that info. It works for me. I do see that being able to watch a fishes reaction to your presentation can be a game changer but I can usually figure out enough to catch a few to keep me happy. Mike
  8. I know the Great Plains cards show docks on LOZ although not 100% accurate. I’ve never paid attention when using the Midsouth while fishing in AR as they are not much interest to me. Mike
  9. Cash…with the youngest grand. .
  10. Orvis Hydros. I am relatively new to this affliction and at a point that I have been adding reels and lines to give me the flexibility to fish different ways. I fish this reel on a 4wt with a DT line and love it, but unfortunately this is an older version and I missed the boat on spools….now when I buy a reel it must have at least one spare. I am learning, a little bit at a time. Mike
  11. As Gavin has mentioned before Craig at Hargrove’s does a fly tying evening(or did, anyway) I think on Tuesdays. Videos as mentioned are all over the net - I kinda like those at intheriffle. Once you are hooked a good rotary vise gets another vote here! Mike
  12. True, but 99.99% is ideal. I’ve had access for many years through my employer so I have taken advantage. Tires last longer and no seasonal fiddling around required. Mike
  13. He could up his game and fill with nitrogen; it’s low coefficient of expansion would keep it at the desired pressure regardless of normal ambient temps. Go big or go home… Mike
  14. You can go over but not higher unless you swap the breaker as well. Like BH says they can be quite sensitive. Swap out appliances until you find the culprit. Older appliances are often the source even though they work perfectly. Mike
  15. <THWOK>
  16. This one did the same, held(crunched) the squirrel from behind by the neck until it was done and strutted off. I was not wearing my GoPro or would have awesome footage…just had my phone and by the time I got it going he was headed away. It was interesting watching 3 or 4 other squirrels check out the “scene” after he left. They are too curious for their own good. Mike
  17. I know when I deer hunt it is not uncommon to have a dozen within 50 yds. Last Thursday AM had a bobcat snatch a gray right underneath me….pretty dang cool to watch. Mike
  18. I have MJs, Costas and Oakleys…have had RB and others in the past. For fishing the Ozarks my MJ scrips in “Maui Brilliant” are the best, for being out in the salt all day Costas block more overall UV and get the nod. The Oakleys are only used for hunting(camp, brown lenses) or as backups in my truck. Agree 100% good glass can’t be beat. Mike
  19. Yes, the ducer in the motor head is just 2D…I run the SI and DI on the stern and just 2D up front but have everything networked which allows shared waypoints and control of the trolling motor from each station. Mike
  20. Will do! Mike
  21. Stripers got a hold of me a long time ago……good luck! Mike
  22. Water will still be cold. Crappie will still likely be best under docks that early, although on a warm day they can move shallow to feed. For bass, fishing slow with a JB, jig, crank, or spinner bait will work. May even get some on Carolina rigged plastic. The north shore has lots of gravel and I would start on secondary transitions with sun. Mike
  23. Does not appear you will have continuous power at any appreciable draw, even with the panels. I’ve used smaller systems like this for cell phones, gps, etc. and they work well as long as they have time to recharge between uses. Mike
  24. It was green here(low lying bush honeysuckle, etc) until the first week of December and that surely helped….very unusual. Good on him - that is a beautiful buck. Mike
  25. On the damiki style head, can the 5/8 be poured with the 5/0? I know with the smaller jigs I pour there is some flexibility with hook size. Mike
