  1. On the damiki style head, can the 5/8 be poured with the 5/0? I know with the smaller jigs I pour there is some flexibility with hook size. Mike
  2. Grew up Ford until I bought a Bronco II in ‘85 and that was the last straw. Have had great luck with Chevy since. Drive a Ford company vehicle and while they have improved, meh. That said, my wife goes her own way. I spend more time wrenching on her little buggies(currently Honda, fingers crossed)than I ever did on a truck. Mike
  3. Same on the Silverado.
  4. I have had no issues with my ‘18, but I am still low mileage. Pulls better and has better fuel economy than my ‘96. Unfortunately, in many cases newer is not better. I hope I’m a lucky one like Dutch. Mike
  5. Interesting…I will try letting them dry before using. Thanks! Mike
  6. I’ll go with the parachute, but am definitely interested in the results. Seems like keeping a non parachute floating high is a lot more work for me. Mike
  7. Nice looking buck. Pretty good pics too…. 👍🏻 Mike
  8. Yes, a nice sack. An LOZ size sack….lol. For the record, I love Bull..but life has given me LOZ for the most part. I hope to spend a lot more time in your neck of the woods soon. My first thought when I saw your post was that these wintertime bags are something else, and they seem to have gotten more regular with the proliferation of the a-rig. My shoulder penalizes me for even thinking about that contraption, so I’ll just stick to my JB and spoons. Mike
  9. The DPF design was a major dud and almost everything now is equipped with DEF for emissions which is significantly more reliable but still has it’s share of issues. A derate IS slightly better than a shutdown; the biggest issue is diagnosis and repair is difficult. Dealers are backlogged and half the time when you pick up your “repaired” truck it derates on the way home. Other than that, they are just great. I agree with Mr. G, if I had an older diesel w/o those emissions systems I would keep it. I have nothing against new things that are reliable, but these emissions systems do not qualify under that criteria. Mike
  10. I’d take a look at your fuel line, sounds like you are sucking air. Probably be a good thing to replace anyway. Mike
  11. A fine buck! He may not make B&C with that rough score as they can be a rough lot, but he is still a dandy! Mike
  12. True. My buddy, who has a couple of those (1 fast, 1 party) told me some time back if you gotta worry about the cost of fuel you shouldn’t be in the game. The outbreak of CCs with multiple offshore racing engines on LOZ has been amazing….and job security for you too Wrench if you choose to take on those 4-stroke beasts. Mike
  13. Awesome buck! Congrats! Mike
  14. Go get ‘em!
  15. Those are some tanks to be sure, very nice! I use the same type pliers on them, keeps the hooks out of my palm while I remove my lure and makes them easier to manage. They tend to be feisty. Someone has to be adding them somewhere…They have no hesitation to run up a stream for food that’s for sure. Love trout, but I bet fish that size don’t pass on much of anything tasty less than 10 inches. Mike
  16. With neighbors like that it’s no wonder you moved. Mike
  17. My FIL lives up in the Poconos and I have never understood that east coast no hunting on Sunday jazz. Still don’t. Mike
  18. I was able to tag buck #1 Sunday…it was warm here as well so I butchered him that night even though I like to hang at least over night - made for a long day but worth the effort. Need at least one more ….winter is coming.
  19. I have 2 Cara JB rods as well and usually fish 8# Invisx/Revo SXs…occasionally swap to a Revo SX loaded with 10 if I’m striper fishing. I love Falcon rods, for stickbaits especially. No doubt I get bit more using 8#, I don’t know whether it’s depth or action - just gotta keep the drag on the light side or increase the risk of losing a favorite bait. Mike
  20. When the water is cold you have to soak them to get bit, or just get casting exercise. Mike
  21. Baitcaster unless it is a small bait, then I use a spinning setup(usually trout or walleye). Mike
  22. Arrived as shown, check headed your way! Thanks! Mike
  23. I have fished it, it is a beautiful stream…I have been there in the fall combined with an elk Hunt and it has not been terribly crowded but access is limited with large stretches of private access only. I have only fished the upper areas, and there are usually some very good fish just below Reudi, but I have not been successful I landing any of those pigs. I love that whole area, it is God’s country. Mike
  24. That’s a good one! Congrats! Mike
