  1. Either way, it’s a gas.
  2. Must be the lack of a reaction…. Mike
  3. My sympathies on losing your pup. Mike
  4. I fought the Belle Chase traffic to and from Venice in March; thankfully it was once each way as we stayed at the Marina for the week. That is some absolute craziness with all those workers down there…. Mike
  5. For a corded knife the American Angler can’t be beat, but they are pricy now as I replaced my original a year or two ago(motor burned up after after thousands of fish). I have the Rapala lithium cordless with the multiple length blades and two batteries for travel and it is an excellent knife, both in battery life and cutting performance. I currently have a NOCO Geniusonboard charger that has been OK, I had a lot of problems with the previous unit(promariner). Mike
  6. I had one snatch a squirrel right below me while bow hunting; never heard or saw the cat until he pounced - pretty impressive display and I’m glad I was on hand for the lesson. Mike
  7. Wow. Thanks for sharing, and paying your love for fishing forward! Mike
  8. No, maybe because mine have decent noise cancelling. I only get distortion if I am in a really strong wing like in a boat and running hard. I really hate to take them out when I fish, but have demonstrated beyond doubt that I am too clumsy these days and I will lose one or both eventually if I don’t. Mike
  9. Very nice! I managed to lose a hearing aid in a fast moving section of the Upper Current a couple years ago…it hit the water and was gone. Fortunately, I was allowed one insured freebie. In addition to that, I’ve had a close call or two - I take them out when fishing now. Next time through that area I am going to have to plan a few stops. Thanks for sharing! Mike
  10. Do it. Time’s a wasting…. Mike
  11. Yes, as directed by the OEM. 13 years so far on my Opti, 10 on my ProKicker. At a minimum, I don’t believe it hurts. Mike
  12. Congrats on the NWT finish! I did see your name when I checked the results…nice. Mike
  13. Definitely one of my favs. RIP. Mike
  14. That’s pretty cool! I bet someone tries it for white bass…. Mike
  15. Looks like most are struggling, now’s your chance to make up ground. Mike
  16. I have some of the same to be sure, had friends who grew up there and we used to be regularly visit during those events in the 80s. The community feel and homemade Kraut and brats their folks made were the bomb, the wine not so much. Mike
  17. Lots of them caught below Alton dam for blue cat bait. Mike
  18. Yes, when the deck structure is comprimised it’s own weight takes it down. That’s what I was saying, the structure was only held to the piers by its own weight. Mike
  19. There have been bridge pilings hit, and at times bridges closed for repair…BUT, they have not completely come unraveled like that one. That thing was floating on those pilings and when there was a breach the whole friggin thing collapsed….I hope that is not the standard design, but I’m no engineer. These suspension bridges would surely go if an overhead parted. Mike
  20. Hi Terry, hope you are well! Looks like the LOZ Local Boyz party circuit pre-event; I think it is kind of late myself, but there are night tournaments throughout the summer as well. More annoying to me I guess is they’ll be camped all over spots I like to fish year round, I much prefer when they are in on Wench’s docks like earlier and later in the year. I must have missed my invite….. Mike
  21. Well, he keeps showing up on the check line - there’s that. Mike

    What's Cooking?

My wife loves beets - especially pickled on salads - so I try to have some around. I can take them or leave them; I prefer other root veggies like rutabaga, turnips, or carrots. Do you plant them already started? I don’t recall ever seeing them around onion sets, but I may have missed them. Mike
  23. I love it, sonar jammers. There should be weight neutralizing devices too, so anglers can’t get to those fish “down deep”. Mike
