  1. I'd try one medium, with 8 and the other with 10. Like has been said I've caught 20+ pound drum on my medium crankbait rod with 8, 15 pound flathead catfish out of a tree on dropshot rod with 8 also. If you don't trust your drag learn to back reel. Good line is hard to break unless nicked, stretched or has a bad knot ( I use a Uni for almost everything).
  2. Still 2.86 here as of 16 minutes ago.
  3. Let me be the first to throw my name in if anyone needs a partner. Haven't been able to fish this event for a couple of years.
  4. https://store.do-itmolds.com/No-Roll-SinkerbrSz-38-12-58-34-1_p_1293.html 1/2 ounce bullet weight, small brass rod and a hammer might work also.

  7. Let me be the first to throw my name in if anyone needs a partner. Haven't been able to fish this event for a couple of years, don't know if I'll ever get my boat back in the water.
  8. Sad to hear, Jim was my first draw in the old CPAA, had the pleasure of fishing with him a couple of times. Got a lesson in early winter fishing docks.
  9. I've had several days when the fish wanted one of my weighted Rogues, way more than any of the high dollar baits.
  10. Only experience I have is Aurora Canvas. Mid-nineties Basscat cover that is heavy, but still in great shape, works well.
  11. Might need to use two stops, depending on the weight.
  12. Pay the GOLD and they will let you enter. Maybe the GOLD is on their end, $176.000 over payback isn't bad if they get a full field.
  13. Caught a lot of frogs as a kid , with an old cane pole and the red cellophane from Dad's cigarette pack.
  14. Great view and location, especially nice that no one will build in front of ya and spoil it.
  15. When I was young and fished in the cold I layered under my 100 MPH if it was gonna be moist, and had a cheap snowmobile suit if it was dry. You can't beat a snowmobile suit, it's not bulky, since it needs no layering and has a nice seal against the wind.
  16. Looks like a big cat to me.
  17. I used to use the Mill Creek ramp a lot for that part of the lake.
  18. The clouds will have more affect than the temp.
  19. My wife talks about that show, endlessly. She was around 14/15 at the time. I have an older female cousin that probably saw Elvis 40 times.
  20. Only swimming Z Man I tried was the Diesel minnow, which had zero action at medium retrieve speeds.
  21. Bo and some of his videos suddenly started showing up on my U Tube, last week. Didn't know him well, but miss his input to the forum.
  22. Guess my spare is more valuable than I thought.
  23. I caught and released one out of Rock Creek about 30 years ago that weighted just a little more than that, 2.5* on my digital scales. I knew the world record was over 4 pounds, didn't even think about a state record. Thought I had a good smallmouth as hard as it fought, pre cell phone so I don't even have a picture.
  24. Get well Bill, thanks for the reports.
  25. Back in the day, when I fished down south and did a lot of flipping/pitching into heavy cover, P line co polymer was a favorite. After moving back here I used CX in the lighter test for quite a while but never had good luck with the Flouroclear.
