  1. Hey Marty, got any goose jerky? (Hint, Hint).
  2. Beautiful fish!
  3. Suh-weet! Good day to be out on the water.
  4. OK, well if the roads are clear and dry, I am coming. Phil has a pavillion that we can use for the cookout. I'll start a cookout thread tomorrow in the Lower Taney forum and we can figure out who is bringing what. Do squirrels on the grill taste good? (Hint, Hint).
  5. Yeah I ain't coming if the weather is nasty.
  6. What do you folks think of a Saturday lunch cookout deal? Charcoal grill some dogs and burgers and whatever else. Meet some folks and a chance for folks that aren't fishing or staying an opportunity to see some old friends.
  7. Fished SWEPCO with my buddy Jeb yesterday, the fishing was decent, we caught 20 bass on c-rigs. The bass in the lake are really solid, not fat, just big ol' chunks and fight hard. It's been 6 or 7 years since I have been over there. being a warm water power plant lake it gets a lot of pressure in the winter, but in the past if you went during the week you might see another 5 or 6 boats out there, but that has changed. The lot was full, probably 15 rigs in the lot, and that's a lot on a relatively small lake. It must be crazy on a Saturday, I might drive over there Saturday just to check it out. Fishing in crowds, no matter how good, is not for me, so dunno if I'll be back there this year, might give it a shot in the spring once the crowds have moved on.
  8. That is a bunch of fish, congrats!
  9. I'm in the maybe camp, if I do go it will be to drop in and say Hi, I won't be staying.
  10. You didn't happen to move that rabid pet mink of yours over to Beaver?
  11. I really miss it too. My buddy's son who is now approaching 40, is still out there hunting chukars with his buddies. He hunted with us when he was 12. He tortures me by sending me pics of dead chukars on the tailgate.
  12. Thanks for the reports, I think I am going to fish the brown fish areas on Beaver next week. Looks to be some good weather to chase them.
  13. I'm done with hunting dogs. I have been kicking the idea of squirrel hunting around.
  14. I'm focusing on the optimistic side of things.
  15. I was just thinking along those lines. If any boat manufacturers get in trouble, JM will be there to swoop in. Of course, Mr. Morris is getting up there too. Might be JM Junior that does the swooping.
  16. Might show up for dinner.
  17. How many more decades is it going to take? I only have a couple more left myself. 😀
  18. I was living in Washington when the movie came out, definitely an uptick in fly fishing afterwards. A lot of those newcomers found out that fly fishing is very tough to learn if you have little to no fishing experience and decide to jump right into fly fishing for trout.
  19. Never looked at the liver or any of the rabbit innards for that matter. Did the deal where you squeeze them from about the front shoulder, work your way about halfway down the bunny and the give them a whipcrack move. The guts fly out. If I could turn my clock back about 30 years, I would seriously consider getting a beagle or two.
  20. Not big, 10-15 inches.
  21. Sorry to hear about the pneumonia. Best wishes for a speedy recovery!
  22. Fished it once about 25 years ago with my dad, we caught smallmouth wade fishing. It does get a lot of traffic in the summer.
  23. Good to see the moving baits working!
  24. They seem to disappear this time of year. I don't target them, but I usually don't start picking them up while bass fishing until March or so.
  25. I usually won't fish on Saturdays, but in the cold part of the year I will. Very few boats out there yesterday, but that may not be the case for other parts of the lake. I caught 15 spots, no LM and one 5" smallie. Ned rig was working on fish in the 10-20 foot depths and I got a few on a 3.3 Keitech fishing deep in the 30-50 foot deep areas. I'm not finding any big schools of bass anywhere, I'm sure they are out there, but I have not run across them. WT around 55.
