BFL's are so wide open when it comes to getting help, people are going to do what they can do to help themselves.

I'll play a devil's advocate - You've got guys coming from out of state to fish these deals. They are competing against some of the best local tournament fishermen that practically live on this lake. Hard to blame people for hiring a guide or calling around for advice.

Big Bass bash next weekend, MLF College/high school tourney, Bass federation, and AIA. If I fish, it will be Beaver lake for me.

I was thinking about this while walking the dog this morning. I have met a bunch of folks here. Every year at the OA One Bass, or at Jigfest it is like a reunion. What is funny is that I have met several members and readers that don't post at the Big M ramp or out on the water. They'll ask me, "Are you Quillback?"

Caught a few of these dudes yesterday here in Bella Vista. 2.8 Keitch on a 3/16 oz head. Got me thinking the small swimbaits might work for the elusive snakehead.

Man $10 per dog! I think I will unretire and start a hot dog stand.

A few years ago there was a noodling show on one of the outdoor channels. It was a competition, there was a weigh-in somewhere in OK, I can't remember where. Several two person teams would fan out and noodle, they could go anywhere as long as they made it back to the weigh-in site on time. Sort of a noodling reality show. I think it only ran for a year. It was entertaining. As for myself, I have zero interest in noodling.

Well looks like it is time to quit calling them just snakehead and now call them the "elusive snakehead". Good to see you out fishing, beats work! 😃 Getting the same kind of weather here today, windy, cold, forecast I saw said we might even get a few snow flurries this afternoon. Grrrr.....

My main beef with windmills is they are a blight on the landscape and when they are put in, completely ruin any hunting or outdoor activity, not to mention once up, the land around them is posted. Not a big deal in the midwest, but out west it is. Notice the quote from the article, about putting them in "remote" areas, as if that is a good thing. Not a lot of remote left out there. I'm not anti- wind or solar, but sure do hate to see it installed out there in the wide open spaces. Wind farms are usually installed in remote areas, and so infrastructure like access roads, power stations, and distribution lines must be built to accommodate their construction, which adds to the overhead costs.

That would be great if you can make it. Stay up at Taney, fish OA, and do some trout fishing the next day. And for all - I have seen some comments about moving the date, the main reason for doing it in March is that we can hopefully avoid the major tourneys and it is a good time to fish for a big bass. Also the campground at Eagle Rock is closed so we pretty much have it to ourselves.
