  1. I use bead wire from craft store. Same stuff as fly shop, bigger rolls for less.
  2. I think it was the blonde in shorts leaving road apples that got us off track. She was on a bike.
  3. Who did they catch you sleeping on top of?
  4. Why read the NY Post. It happens every day. Terrorist that want to kill walk among us. Just like they do in other countries. Israel did not see the Hamas attack coming and they have a top of the line monitoring system that predates 9/11. They live in a area where everyone wants a piece of them.
  5. I did not miss the wife long, she was easy to replace. It was dealing with the loss of my daughter except for a few days every week and alternating weekends. Then there were the stories she was telling my kid trying to turn her against me. After she was grown, she soon realized what her Momma really was.
  6. I got bent over double and ran thru the cleaners. My lawyers only case that he was good at was the case of booze he nursed all of the time. Forgot my name one time in a meeting. Her lawyer served some time after the divorce a few years later all coked up and threatened his crack lady shack up with a pistol. Thought about visiting him, worthless sob. I think they gave him his law license back after his time was served. Never had much use for a lawyer as a person.
  7. We used to feed them thru the fence. Don't have to open a gate that way. Hang a bucket on a post and fatten them up. Throw eggs in their sweet feed
  8. Sweet looking ride. People are running out of money and the deals are coming soon.
  9. I was there during spring turkey season. The locals have made a ramp that I think I can get my little jet boat into if the water is up some. Looking forward to trying it out. Below Saco to Coldwater is a 13 hour float with alot of paddling. Big slow holes with short runs at the end of them. But, fishing is good if you catch it right. Nice scenery. From Coldwater to 34, you would need to bring a tent and spend a nite. I have not did the stretch below the Girl Scouts to Sam A in a float. We did run a jet up from Sam A one time when water was up. But the fishing was lousy. I need to hit the parts above Saco and that stretch between the Girl Scout camp and Sam A. Then I can complete the river as a whole for the most part. Don't worry much about the lower parts in the mud banks of SEMO much since my duck killer urge is gone.
  10. They are alot of work. And money.
  11. Coldwater to 34? The MDC access down would be quite a float. I always did a Sam A to 34 for a day trip. Looks like the fishing was pretty good, low water is all over in that stretch. Its been dry on that drainage since a freak little storm in August. Nice walleye. Glad to see the MDC stocking may be working on those. Been looking forward to retirement to hit those spots again more frequently like I did when I was younger.
  12. Gray ones suck. They tend to grow out all wonky and stick out in all directions. Maybe the scientists could find out what make them stiffer and transfer that to a manly pill for other uses....
  13. Guns passed down carry many memories. My safes are full of them. I have a pair of .244 Remington 740 semi auto rifles that were owned by my Father and Grandpa. Remington lost the race to the .243 and recalibered and changed the twist to make the 6mm to handle the larger bullets. I have killed deer with both. I have a .22 Savage Hi Power model 99 lever action that Dad engraved with his name. Only has value to me now. Even have the 22 lr conversion kit. Grandpas old Hi Standard Nickle plate 22 single action that he used to threaten a neighbor and almost shot him for trespassing. Matching Ruger 10-22 carbines that was my first 22 and the other Dad kept in safe with consective serial numbers. Grandpas old Marlin 30-30 lever action that he loaned to someone before he let me start deer hunting with it. That goober leaned it against a truck, then run over it. Shoots to the left and busted the stock which I replaced when I took ownership. Never fixed the bent barrel, just lean into it. 1897 Winchester Pump 12 ga shotgun that was Mom's side Grandpa, loaned to Dad to Turkey hunt with. Another one like it that Dad bought and sent to have restored to factory new. Maternal Grandpa's old Smith and Wesson revolver in 38 short that he carried back and forth every day to his country store in case he run into trouble. On and on..... I miss the Model 42 Winchester .410 Pump that I used as a kid that my Great Uncle loaned me. His collection sold at an auction they kept a secret from me years ago. I see it on a table at the shows from time to time with most of the others from his collection, $1700 for it now. Still has the blood stain on the receiver from a squirrel blood in the bluing that I killed with it and a few knocks and dings that I put in it. I have tried to talk him down, knowing that Uncle only paid $30 for it at a pawn shop in St Louis.
  14. Sucks, somebody else gets the wife, somebody else gets the boat.
  15. I often wonder....
  16. Nice one Marty.
  17. At our shop, key employees have to drag the dead weight ones around while doing both our dedicated tasks and theirs too. We call them zombies, wandering around looking at FB or Tiktok all of the time. Our only rewards are laughing at the stupidity.
  18. My elders used to can them with pressure cookers and make fish cakes out of them. I don't recall the taste was any different than salmon made ones. They would spawn in the spring above Wappappello Lake near Greenville where we would snag or gig them. It was a local festivity that brought people together for the harvest. Funny, I have not heard or seen it happen in the last 40 years. But my fishing turned to other things and the shoal is a big log jam area now. White bass run there also, but it has declined to almost nothing.
  19. Man, its low and clear. They can't seem to catch a drop of rain over there. Is that 11 pt beer any good? Had not heard of them, need to give it a shot.
  20. Government will run out of money to maintain the dams long before they spend it tearing them down. But look how many have already been taken out. The one on North Fork from a flood comes to mind. We have been talking about the one on the Niagua Tunnel Dam being shut down. What about Powersite? Isn't it on its last leg. Every stream in MO of any size had mill dams that have been blown out for a long time. Nature is already running its course, concrete can only last so long against the actions of water and elements.
  21. Did you ever eat one?
  22. I used to work hard to avoid the Grinnel at Duck Creek. Never knew there are those that target them specifically. I lost a good set of lip grippers on Pickwick tailwater trying to get one off the hooks of a bait I was using. It was over 2' long and gave a big flip, wrenched my wrist and I lost the grip on everything. And off it went with the grippers in his jaws and my bait too.
  23. Put a little stain on it. Build up the transition in the handle with epoxy and stick a few streamers in it. Call it a masterpiece.. If I catch one bigger than I can boat, I usually got the bogas out instead of a net. I have lost more big fish in my life when others or myself start chasing them with a net.
  24. That's a work of art there. I assume all are hand poured?
  25. I am coming your way around Turkey Season. Had 2 bearded hens all summer that managed to raise 2 young ones. All disappeared a month ago.
