That is how my practice usually goes, tourney day seems to end differently. Good day and thanks for sharing.

New Ultrex 112...spot lock keeps disengaging
TRRANGER replied to seabass03's topic in Table Rock Lake
I will defend wrench on most of his whining, I have been in parts industry since 94 and most of what he gripes about is legit and I have some of same issues. -
I have a good used trolling motor that I am planning on selling. Would work great for what your needing. Minn Kota Maxxum 68lb foot control 24volt 45" shaft. $250.00 obo. Can send pictures if interested. working fine just upgraded to Ultexx 80.

What club do you belong to?

I never thought of it as a money making opportunity, just follow a couple of big tourneys a year. Go sit on point and collect $100.00 bucks then move to the next one and wait for another pro to show up and collect again. Genius Wrench. You and Wylie Coyote. 🤣

That is why my 87 Ranger got a new trolling motor, new cover, is getting new upholstery and carpet. Next spring I am redoing the top cap. Still cheaper than buying a new one and will catch just as many fish.

I agree to many people buying trucks and using them as "cars". I use mine a truck, I take care of it and clean it but if I am hunting and get mud in it so be it, if I am fishing and get water in the floor it is a truck. It forces the price up on what those of us that require a truck have to pay to get one, as well as the government requiring bull**** safety features to protect us from stupidity. Tire pressure sensors in tires all because people bought Explorers that had no idea how a truck rode and drove. They lowered the air pressure in tires to make it ride smooth like a car, then an emergency occurs and they try to correct or drive around it, they roll due to tires not being inflated correctly. Firestone tires get blamed and are still dealing with a bad reputation for nothing that was their fault. Now we have a sensor in tires that are $90.00 each and a module that controls them so they work.

Because they have crash standards to keep us from getting hurt while we drive with our lattes and phones and laptops. We also cant pollute with 2 strokes and engines that last 30 years, and diesels that cant smoke due to the endangered spotted Wasu Chicken. You cant check you oil or add oil to your gas because we are to stupid to check for ourselves it has to be done for us. Customer brought a vehicle in that they drove 4500 miles since their last oil change, not excessive by any means, saying engine making noise under a load, 4 quarts low on oil 5 qt system. I was taught you check oil and fluids once a week as part of having privilege of having a car to drive. Maybe I am to old or my parents screwed me up but people today are reliant on others for basic things that I do not see how they do not do for themselves. Engineers engineer cause they cant do it, Biologist do what they do to make themselves feel good, and all the while look down on people who work a skilled trade and look down on us for no being as smart as they cause they learned from a book.

It is also why truck are costing $50,000 plus and boats are $65,000 plus. Craziness complete and totally insanity. I have an 87 Ranger that is just as good at catching fish and a 02 Silverado that gets me to the lake and home again.

This whole problem stems from over paid people in government trying to make themselves relevant. They have to spend money somewhere on something it is just like in cars and boats, crash sensors emissions requirements and rules and regulations to make us SAFER. These fish studies are going to make our lakes cleaner and more pleasurable to fish, make our fish more suited to the pollution we are putting in our water. It all boils down to more regulation and equipment we do not need. These people get these grants to do studies for research to make things better then cram regulations on us that do not do any good. When a radio in a truck cost $3,000 to replace that is ridiculous because we cant be with out navigation, google bluetooth Arbys locator and whatever else crap they have on the vehicle to keep us from paying attention. Do we need a buzzer in the seat to vibrate our butts when we are getting out of our lanes, why do we need our cars to brake for us to keep us from rear ending the person in front of us. WE DONT we need to put our phones down and pay attention, take responsibility for ourselves and quit raising snowflakes that are entitled and have no common sense. All this crap comes from GOVERNMENT intervention where they don't belong. Sorry for the rant.

Thanks Techo, I fish an old Ranger 360 grey and maroon but wont be spraying any paint stop and say hey. Some of us have been around here for a long time and get the old jokes. 🤣

Ok those are nice looking paddle tails thanks for sharing.
-
That is one beautiful colored fish, Table Rock has always had pretty marked fish.
-
I know I am not allowed in your creek, and have honored your territory, but I was wondering what this Truscend lure your speaking highly of is?
-
Do you still have the mower?
-
What ever you chose do not mix old and new batteries. Always replace in pairs when run in series, it is hard on the electronics.
-
Just curious to know how many anglers do you have registered for the event?
-
Will do, prayers sent.

That first cast deal ruined my trip Saturday, Took my wife's 83 year old uncle out for short ride for him and a couple hours of fishing/ learning the new ultrex for me. Started at 11:30 on channel swing into an island grey green water with tea stained riffles, threw a jerk bait up close to bank jerk it down paused it, jerk pause, jerk jerk pause, felt it load up set the hook and fought for 10 feet. Uncle said that's a good fish about that time it was gone. How a fish can not get hooked on a jerk bait amazes me. Spent 2 more hours with nothing. Always make short cast and get it in boat quickly, then start your day fishing.

I fish an 87 Ranger 360, it's not the prettiest any more or the fastest but it is stable and catches fish. The fish do not care if they get caught by $100,000 boat or a $5000 boat. The live wells are all white on the inside, and I only put them in there if I am fishing a tourney. That is a beautiful ride hope you enjoy your Ranger as much as I love mine. You can also still get factory direct parts if you need them shipped from Flippin. If you want info PM me.

I seemed to have turned my waypoints off, or have lost them. Does anyone have a clue as to where I have sent them and how I did it so I don't do it again.

I would recommend the hiring a guide due to the Rock being a fickle beast. You can fish almost any way you like. It depends on if your just interested in catching numbers or quality. A guide can help you with that, I have never fished with Mr Babler but he has a stellar reputation and regularly almost daily posts detailed reports that are spot on.

Top 34 boats all over 15 lbs, and # 35 at 14.98 and 3 20lb plus sacks. That's a catch fest for sure.
