I'm over the top? Did I not say that I wasn't attempting to refuel the thing? I believe I did.

I never said anyone was lying or giving bad info, just said that what they were reporting wasn't the ONLY bite on TR.

Geeze Phil, the dude acted like we had really stepped on his toes....as if the temporary hiatus of a few reports was gonna put him out of the fish catching loop. I was actually clueing him pretty darn good for your information, in an attempt to make ammends for my part of it the only way I knew how. I mean, since I don't have the personal clout with you that PD obviously has.

By the way, A PM and a deletion of my post would have been fine if you truly thought I crossed the line. Scolding me like a mouthy stepchild in front of everyone here is pretty much over the top, IMO, but I'm big enough to get over that.

Have I not "contributed" selflessly, and PLENTY to this congregation for quite some time ? I think I have....and will continue to do so....unless you'd rather I didn't. Is "guide" info the only information of any value ?

Nope- guides only contribute a fraction, very small fraction of what is shared here. That was another one of my points.

Probably should have PM'ed you... sorry about that.

The Table Rock forum here on OAF is the best forum and source of fishing information anywhere on the net, anywhere in any form of public media, free or not. And the guides and others who fish the lake alot make it so. There's no doubt about that.

But no one on the board can be thin skinned. If they are, they won't last - on this forum or any other. If someone gets offended by what has been said here the last few days or week and want not to post anymore, I can't do anything about it, and no one else can either. If someone is thin skinned and can't take criticism or for that matter, a "troll" every once in a while, then sooner or later they will be gone, if not now, later.

That's it, plain and simple. In this or any other public arena, you're gonna get mud thrown at you. The goods one will always have those who stick up for ya... that's the proof in the pudding if you're doing a good job. And there's plenty sticking up here, including me. I just won't use my ultimate power to stop it unless it gets real ugly.... or long, ongoing, stupid, boring, or as Trav used to post... a dead horse.

Phil,

Maybe some of us have been a little "thin skinned" of late, but this TR Forum has taken a mean spirited turn over the past couple of months and it has lost contributors. Unforunately it will continue to do so as long as individuals are allowed to lurk and wait to attack posters, much like coldwater has done to Don and I.

Thin Skinned? Maybe, but Coldwater did not make a single post on the Table Rock forum until I started the Unlicensed Guides thread and while some may have found his posts funny, they were mean spirited and contibuted nothing to the thread.

Wrench,

You don't know anyones situation, and to have the gall to assume that anyone, guide or otherwise, has to go through a divorce or any other hardship to understand how right you are about there particular sponsorship or other situation only proves the problem with some of your posts.

I've got a trip in the morning and am up to late.

At this point, I could delete post, delete topics, close topics. But not sure if it's going to appease the situation.

We'll see where it goes from here.

Please don't do that. If posts are being deleted, you don't really know what everyone is saying, and it just makes the argument unfair in my opinion. There are lots of forums where anything slightly offensive is deleted, and no arguments or disagreements are allowed. Those are the forums I no longer visit.
