MOPanfisher Posted December 24, 2016 Posted December 24, 2016 What and how did you stuff it. I have a big ole loin in the fridge awaiting it's final disposition.
Gavin Posted December 24, 2016 Posted December 24, 2016 Stuffed with porcini, onion, Apple, spinach, garlic, thyme, rosemary, sage, and pork sausage. Have not tried before but based on Bon Appetit's prosciutto wrapped pork loin with roasted apples. Opted for some on sale bacon instead. e BilletHead, Johnsfolly, Terrierman and 2 others 5

Gavin Posted December 25, 2016 Posted December 25, 2016 Merry Christmas all. Loin was great, better than ham, guests devoured,...but not a match for flavor of a rib roast....Good start to two weeks of decadence! Hope you that your bellies and your glasses are full always! rps, snagged in outlet 3, Mitch f and 2 others 5
Chief Grey Bear Posted December 25, 2016 Posted December 25, 2016 'Twas the night before Christmas and all through the hills The kinfolk were drinkin' and tending their stills The longjohns were hung by the chimney with care No stockings were found, just underwear The children were nestled so high in their bunks Their quilts made of skins from rabbits and skunks Granny with her false teeth and gun on her knee Was waiting for Santa as she sat by the tree From out of the barn there arose such a noise We thought it was Grandpa drinkin' with the boys But what to my wandering eye should appear It was just cousin Cleatus in mama's brassiere And then from the rooftop we heard it at last Like the sound of thunder or a shot gun blast We have Christmas dinner, it's finally here Granny kidnapped Santa while we shot his deer Venison all covered with onions for stew And even old Santa enjoyed some too His belly was full when he walked out the door But he couldn't resist when we offered him more Well that's the story of our Christmas here Merry Christmas to all 'til the same time next year Note: No Hillbillies were harmed in the writing of this poem... MOPanfisher Posted December 25, 2016 Posted December 25, 2016 The standing rib roast is in the oven becoming lunch, hopefully done in time. The pork loins are waiing to go in the smoker to become supper at friends house. And the picture of my grandson is just because he is so darn cute. Lunch will be accompanied by pan seared Brussel sprouts with some balsamic and maybe a few dried cranberries, and a corn pudding thing my wife put in the crockpot before she left for church. I had to stay behind to make lunch, my son will be here in a cuple hours, and daughter and her family later. Folks having your family around is the best present I could get. God best all of you and MERRY CHRISTMAS. Chief Grey Bear, Johnsfolly, grizwilson and 5 others 8
