Agreed, but let's look at a more clear and present land grab of sorts, going on right now. When people keep piling across the border pregnant, they have a check in their hand in 72 hours. Millions of illegals doing a land grab around our "secured" border. I remember you wrote about going on an African Safari where there was a huge fenced ( If memory serves) border around it. The native had to walk 5 miles each way to break in and steal firewood. Even thought you felt sorry for the guy, you knew that if the park allowed everyone to do it, there wouldn't be a park anymore. I feel this is what's going on right now with the sanctuary cities and such.

Mitch, do you honestly think that first of all Trump is going to build a wall to keep them out, and second of all that there is really an ounce of difference in what the two parties will actually DO about illegal immigration?  The Dems are more overt about letting them come in because we're the melting pot and all that (when actually they are letting them come in to pander to the Hispanic voting block), while the Repubs are overtly saying that it's a bad thing that they're coming in and using up services and such (but in reality are giving it all a wink and a nod because not only do they want to capture that voting block someday, but more importantly a whole lot of influential Repub backers like the cheap labor.)

We all vote on our priorities.  There are a lot of things the Dems stand for that I detest, but there are more things the Republicans stand for that I detest equally, and I care more about the things the Dems are on "my" side with.  So that's how I vote.  And as far as Hillary vs. Trump, I don't trust either of them any farther than I can throw them, but I have zero confidence that Trump has any clue about how to run a country.  At least Hillary has the experience, even if what she's done with it is questionable.  Hopefully she learns from the mistakes she and her husband made.

What?? Are you serious?? All they have learned is that they can continue doing whatever the hell they want and nothing will ever come of it. Nothing. If we would start holding some of the American Royalty accountable for their actions then maybe we would get some decent candidates. But yeah Trump isn't any better. He's as sleazy as Bill.

Definitely enjoy it, my daughter is 22 and my son 18 and about to start college.  Strangely one of the best memories with my daughter was wading around in a small local creek, falling over rocks, catching crawdads, (with a net because she didnt want to touch them) only to let them go later.

that is awesome MOPanfisher.....My daughter just can't get enough of going to the river and creeks and I love her for it

I know about the only thing that will prevent people coming over the southern boarder I'd kill get them for doing so. You think Russia or China would not.

I don't have a problem with Mexican immigration but I am concerned about Muslim immigration.  I would not like to have 10,000 Syrian's dropped in my area.

I saw an analogy on this issue that was spot on.   If there was a bowl of 10,000 M&M's, and there was a very good chance that at least one of them(probably many more than 1) had poison in it that would kill you, would you eat any of them?

Peanut M&M's or just regular?

I just don't want any in my dark chocloate M&M's. I guess it would be immigration Russian roulette as I eat them.

Trust me, I'd vote to keep every Muslim on earth out of this country.  In fact, I'd vote to keep everybody out except for those who can prove that they, right now, would be good and productive members of our society.  I think the time for encouraging immigration or rescuing refugees is over--we got enough problems taking care of the people we have, and enough people here already using up resources.

But, the one big nightmare of every administration is to have some foreign terrorist get into the country and perpetrate some spectacular 9/11 style attack.  I suspect that the Obama administration is checking out those Syrian refugees a lot closer than we know before they come in, and perhaps watching especially closely any that are suspicious to see if they lead the authorities to possible terrorist cells already in the country.  It's what I would do, and I'd keep pretty darned quiet about it.
