First day on TR

snagged and ham, they only kept them for pics, all fish were released unharmed. We never keep smallmouth, an occasional spot or two but not the brown ones.

Never going to like a post where a bunch of grown men get their panties in a wad anytime somebody takes a picture of a fish. Geezus you guys need to get something more important to act like children about.

I've boxed a lot of bass for pics over the years, mostly because I tend to be alone. And I like a nice fish pic. Those look to be just fine.

I don't like smallmouth being kept. I think it is a waste. Smallmouth are too much fun to be kept for food.  I didn't call anyone names or pout in any way. I don't see my post as childish. 

I'm not sure if you're just painting with a broad brush, but I don't complain about people keeping other fish as long as they were legally caught and are within their legal limits. I believe in selective harvest. you can read other places what that means. 

Seems like an oxymoron to say find something more serious to be childish about. But just so I understand, It's childish to express an opinion about keeping big smallmouth, but manly to call names and complain about my complaining. Got it! Thanks for your help.

Ham, I appreciate your passion. My sons and I share the same reverence for smallmouth that you do. I'm a river/ creek dude first and we catch and release hundreds of smallmouth every year,  so I get where you're coming from. Thanks for your comments, and our shared passion . Good fishing.

It's like the politically correct obligatory response of "all fish were released unharmed".  Doesn't really matter what happened to em, but as long as you preface the report with that phrase everyone gets a nice warm fuzzy feeling inside.
