nothing that has been mentioned is against the law.  If you want something to change, get the laws changed.  Good luck with that.

It doesn't matter if no laws are broken, it's 2016 for Christ sake, and I am OFFENDED.

That's way worse than a broken law.

Offended???? Not really but, watching  hordes of canoes tipping and dumping  cans and plastic bags into the river without picking  it up because you have drank yourself to an IQ level of 4 is annoying and illegal. I don't  want to have to bust people for littering but, if you are too fing dumb and drunk to police your crap then so be it.....I very rarely float where all the tards float so when I do see it .....well it is an eye opener. Hey like you said it's  2016 screw it party on Rusty the river will heal itself it time and flush all the litter  downstream for somebody  else to deal with right??

yeah I feel the same way about the obnoxious Floaters on our streams and rivers and the joyriders of jets as well but, what are ya gonna do?? outlaw anybody other than your clan and people who you feel are not clowns from the rivers????

I totally agree, something needs  to be done on both sides.  I don't know which is worse, the hordes of party floaters or crazy jet boaters.  I just can't go to the rivers in the summer anymore.  Makes me sick what I see.

Let's just hope some kind of economic bubble doesn't burst and make the situation worse.

I couldn't agree more. I've made a few mistakes thinking a could work around boat traffic before it really sank in that recreational boating has turned my heaven into a hell. Being limited to weekends only I've just settled for the occasional trip to the fringes of navigability, access and habitat.

Sad but true! Winter fishing is my time. Let's plan a trip this winter?

We are lucky to have hundreds and hundreds and hundreds of stream miles to fish for smallmouth bass (in this case), ANYTIME we desire. Nitpick all you want, but we are fortunate that we have a dedicated state agency, MDC, looking after ALL of our interests, which is their job. Our streams are open for everyone, which is the way it should be. Plus, there are "managed" areas that benefit certain citizens who want something more, I don't know, 'special."   Regardless, I have no problem with jet boaters using Ozark streams. Or flotillas of canoes containing inebriated "adults."

Look at all the fish pictures and fishing reports on this forum. I would venture to say that most are positive. Obviously, big fish are being caught often. If not, people had a story to tell and felt good about going out to our wonderful streams. I agree that there are jet boat (or canoe or jon boat or inner tube) users that behave in a less than appropriate way. But those people are in the minority (although no consolation when one is in the middle of it). There is nothing to fix.

In sum, be happy to get out and fish just about anywhere you want. It is quite something to have that opportunity.  Hopefully, you won't run into "freedom."

I agree with Joe.  Just think if all those canoe parades contained fishermen.  Our streams wouldn't be as good as they are.  I bet 90% of the people that float our streams don't even realize they are as good of fisheries as they are.  They are just out there to get drunk and have a good time.  I know when I caught a 3lb smallie right along the campground at Huzzah Valley right near a bunch of people swimming they couldn't believe there could be a fish like that right there were they were swimming.

I know that Al has said it before that the streams seem to be declining in big fish being caught over the years, especially since jet boats have come around, but the past few seasons I've seen plenty of big fish being posted up on here that shows all the extracurricular activities that take place on the streams aren't that much of a detriment to the fishing.
