oneshot Posted August 23, 2016 Posted August 23, 2016 Went down to the Niangua River caught 6 Redhorse Suckers. Had time with trashy Bass biting even though I was fishing right on the bottom. Got enough for couple messes. Tried talking my wife into buying a Gigging Boat but she says I can catch plenty with Rod and Reel. oneshot Johnsfolly 1
Johnsfolly Posted August 23, 2016 Posted August 23, 2016 Oneshot You have been after redhorse for awhile. Glad to see you catch some instead of all the trout you were catching most of the season.
MOPanfisher Posted August 23, 2016 Posted August 23, 2016 Them redhorse are bether eating than any trout or bass ever thught about being. Now if you had a few gogglers too that would be like dessert.

I could have caught more if I had taken my Boat and went on up river to a riffle. Thinking of using some Stink Bait I have caught Channel Cats in there. What also is Bad the Lord really blesses us with all we need here. We have a Cabin by Truman Lake that is paid for and fishing and hunting is good up there but like I say we really have what we need here. But also seems every time I sell anything I regret it. oneshot

The MDC is kicking around putting a 8 inch Length Limit on them. This would be good but I'm thinking how many I would have to throw back for awhile. oneshot
Gavin Posted August 23, 2016 Posted August 23, 2016 Thinking the 8" limit on Goggs is a done deal. Nobody objected, so that is gonna be the minimum next year.
fishinwrench Posted August 23, 2016 Posted August 23, 2016 I have stood and just watched Suckers (undisturbed) and they don't seem to move around much. They just sit there and appear to be sucking on the same couple of pebbles for hours. So casting out a baited line and waiting for one to happen across it sounds like about as much fun as watching an old car rust. Tell your ol'lady that you are buying a gigging boat.... and that's that. Who wears the dam bibs in that family anyway? Gavin, BilletHead, Flysmallie and 2 others 5

Well when you get it cleaned up why don't you set up a GoFundMe thing, and let's get our buddy a gigging boat. Have the components shipped to me and I'll rig it FOC. A Lowe 1648, a 40hp jet, some lights, a generator, and some 2" aluminum tubing. Once it's done we'll have a Niangua gravel bar party and Oneshot can feed us like kings. Let's get started so it's ready by gigging season. JestersHK, Greasy B, David Unnerstall and 5 others 8
