Made a trip to bennett yesterday in search of my first trout for the new year. Caught some browns, rainbows, goggle eye, smallmouth, and one creek chub. As i was fishing near the dam and bridge hole I found " few " fish and an alarming presence  of river otters. The handicap pier on the hwy side is littered with otter poop. I did not walk over to the other side, but I am guessing the same. The hatchery people are most likey aware, but I think I will give them a call today. The creek is low and clear and could use a heavy dose of urban lunkers.

I saw a massive otter down there the weekend before Halloween in that same area.  Was huge for a freshwater otter.  Agree last thing they need down there.  I wonder if they can trap it out of there.  I remember reading somewhere on here that otters will even kill fish just for sport, and can clean out a hole in a hurry...

Whenever we have a cold spell like the other week you can bet those vermin are gonna come up the spring arm for the warmer water.

They can and they will. They could very easily be getting fish from the raceways.
