bobby b. Posted January 13, 2017 Author Posted January 13, 2017 Thanks all - well I guess I have a little something to do tomorrow if the weather is really bad. Headed to the store now (extreme or Walmart) for some line. dtrs5kprs 1
Smalls21 Posted January 13, 2017 Posted January 13, 2017 i will also recommend NOT buying the Seaguar "red Label", all of the other Seaguar line i have is used is great but did not care for the "red label" Champ188 and Bassmod 2
moguy1973 Posted January 13, 2017 Posted January 13, 2017 I've heard the BPS fluorocarbon is good too Smalls21 1 -- JimIf people concentrated on the really important things in life, there'd be a shortage of fishing poles. -- Doug Larson
Bill Babler Posted January 13, 2017 Posted January 13, 2017 The BPS mono green is just fine. I would stay away from their FC. Personal experience. Old plug, Champ188 and grizwilson 3 http://whiteriveroutfitters.com http://whiteriverlodgebb.com

It's not as supple as the Invizx but I like it. Got a spool of the Top Knot from Yozuri in 10# but have yet to spool it up. Hopefully it's good because the price is right .

Sore Thumbs Posted January 13, 2017 Posted January 13, 2017 I second InvizX. Great line. Likes cold weather a lot more than other brands. I tried Sunline sniper FC last year. It's good line as well. Haven't tried the new Finesse line from Seagaur yet but I bet it's gonna be a winner too. dtrs5kprs and Champ188 2
Seth Posted January 13, 2017 Posted January 13, 2017 I've used 14 and 17# vanish for years and never had any problems with it other than it had a lot of memory. The main use was for pitching heavy cover with jigs and texas rigs so I wasn't too concerned about the memory. The abrasion resistance was fantastic for that purpose. I've also used 8# Vanish for leaders on my finesse setups, but I don't recall ever having any trouble with it that I didn't have with any other 8# leader. It worked fine there too. I've since started using Seaguar Red Label and InvizX though. The lower memory of the InvizX is nice!
Sore Thumbs Posted January 13, 2017 Posted January 13, 2017 Cold air and water is tough on that FC. I think that's what separates the good from the average. I use red label when it's warm. No way I use it when it's cold.
Jerry Rapp Posted January 14, 2017 Posted January 14, 2017 I have never heard a bad thing about Berkley Big Game mono being bad. But, flouro is the things these days. Played the game for several years. Advertising is a great thing for the sellers. Daryk Campbell Sr 1
