I going to start going to stockton and i know of about another 50 people that will start going there!!....lol

I have been almost swamped in my 17'6" boat from them darn wake boats and tubers and i moved away from them and here they come again spinning doughnuts about 150 foot away from me and waves where breaking over bow of boat with me up front on trolling motor trying to keep boat out of the rocks, so thats why im going to Stockton.

Better pick your days carefully. A north or south wind even 10-15 mph on that lake --- especially on the lower end --- will put you in some water you don't want to try in a 17-footer.

True dat.

15+ mph turns it into LOZ without the big boats to blame it all on.

I love Stockton but some of my scariest on the water moments happened on that lake.

In fact, most of them.

Mine too. That lake can turn vicious in a hurry.

So your saying it would be like being in the Gulf of Mexico in an 18 foot boat in 10 to 12 foot seas?

I know everything about nothing and know nothing about everything!

Wow!  Kind of sensitive today.  Maybe a round of golf would help?:)

Heading that way in about 30 minutes.

And my attitude when I return will directly reflect the quality of play.

Not really.  I love every minute of every day on the course or the water.

Just keep your dang feet and kids off of MY GRASS!

can tell you 4 foot chop by the dam is common, there is a reason it has sailboats, a SW wind gets funneled by the bluffs and even a 15 mph wind can make it rough 25+ can kill you....been on it in a hard blow and not kidding in 8 foot swells, 23 foot bass boat isn't enough boat at times, usually thats what keeps numbers off Stockton, scares the crap out people then they go to TR never to come back LOL...if you fish Stockton you learn to fish the wind..and you respect it

They do need to put a limit on boat size, whether by length or displacement, while they still can.

The real driving force of large pleasure boaters on a body of water is....Having places to go.  The reason LOZ is the way it is, is because of the lakefront bars/restaurants/clubs.  If it weren't for the lakefront establishments then simply riding around in their big vessels would get boring and pointless, those people have to have crowded places to go where they can spend money, mingle, and show off.   This lake stays nice and calm regardless of nice weather....until all the "places to go" open up.

Even the wakeboarders don't get on the lake much unless there is somewhere to go after they do their wakeboarding thing.  They wakeboard awhile then they go somewhere to eat/drink/party.   If there is no place open to go..... then the wakeboats pretty much stay docked and dry.
