BilletHead Posted June 17, 2017 Posted June 17, 2017 Our friend Richard, I say our friend because he is an OAF member, A friend of Ham's, Grizwilson and Gotmuddy is in a world of hurt and needs our prayers. I have been a friend of Richard for around eighteen years. Met him on the river crappie fishing, go figure .You have seen him in some of my posts and when he fished with the guys above on a redfish trip to Texas. Too many things have hit our friend in the last few months and he needs some prayers and good thoughts. I have been in contact with Richard's daughters and wife and today I asked if I could post this here. Annette his wife asked Richard and he said yes so here it is. A few months back Richard had a stroke. Bounced back from that fine, then he began to feel poorly , lost some weight and got to hurting, hurting bad enough to be hospitalized only to find out after a biopsy he has lymphoma. Then another stroke. Richard will see an oncologist Monday to see his course of treatment. He has the most wonderful wife and daughters and their families. This equals the best support system possible. They can all use out prayers right now. Pat and I love him and his family. Like it or not when you become our friend you become part of our family. I went through pictures of our many adventures together this afternoon. Got a bit teary eyed. Picked out a couple to share with you all, BilletHead ness, Deadstream, ollie and 12 others 15 "We have met the enemy and it is us", Pogo If you compete with your fellow anglers, you become their competitor, If you help them you become their friend" Lefty Kreh " Never display your knowledge, you only share it" Lefty Kreh "Eat more bass and there will be more room for walleye to grow!" rps Posted July 5, 2017 Posted July 5, 2017 Shucks, darn, golly! I strongly dislike the fact good people fall ill or feeble, especially when it leaves family to hurt. All my best wishes, vibes, and hopes for them. BilletHead 1

BilletHead Posted July 5, 2017 Author Posted July 5, 2017 Thanks everyone, Please keep the prayers and positive thoughts coming. Family are holding their own but Richard is not doing well at all. Still working for a plan of treatment. Problem is he is so weak right now and needs to eat and drink to get stronger for handling the treatment regiment that is needed, BilletHead "We have met the enemy and it is us", Pogo If you compete with your fellow anglers, you become their competitor, If you help them you become their friend" Lefty Kreh " Never display your knowledge, you only share it" Lefty Kreh "Eat more bass and there will be more room for walleye to grow!"
