University of Missouri continues death spiral after sacrificing dignity and integrity to deranged student protesters.

The misery slamming Mizzou is only getting worse following their shameful 2015 performance when, faced with a mob of entitled, cultish students throwing tantrums, they responded by agreeing to more or less everything. Even this past July there was plenty for us to talk about with university enrollment falling by 35% over two years, seven dorms closing, and over 400 positions being cancelled.

Recently, however, Jillian Kay Melchior of The Wall Street Journal offered not only some scathing alumni reports regarding the University of Missouri, but some additional damage statistics. Melchior writes:

“As classes begin this week, freshmen enrollment is down 35% since the protests, according to the latest numbers the university has publicly released. Mizzou is beginning the year with the smallest incoming class since 1999. Overall enrollment is down by more than 2,000 students, to 33,200. The campus has taken seven dormitories out of service.”

“Mizzou’s 2016 football season drew almost 13,000 fewer attendees than in 2015, local media reported. During basketball games, one-third of the seats in the Mizzou Arena sat empty.”

One of perhaps the most fitting accounts included by Melchior came from a Mr. Victor Wirtz:

“At breakfast this morning, my wife and I agreed that MU is NOT a school we would even consider for our three children,” wrote Victor Wirtz, a 1978 alum, adding that the university “has devolved into the Berkeley of the Midwest.”

This is the legacy schools bring upon themselves when they encourage and appease the SJW hordes. Violence, intolerance, and cowardice. People avoid the Berkleys and the Mizzous because, no matter how lofty their past reputations may be, the enabling of thuggery and entitlement leads to nothing but embarrassment. PC policies just don’t lend themselves to making money, loyal alumni, or educated student bodies.

Its good to read this. When that garbage was going on, i knew that they would cave in to the demands. That type of mentality usually is followed by karma of some type. Thats like letting your 12 year old run your household, and if try to correct them, then they will move out.

Mizzou Administration knuckling-under to these numbskulls was horrible.  Remember the center of the protest who did a hunger strike was later exposed as the Son of the VP of Sales and marketing for the UP RR in Omaha and Daddy pulls down a cool $8 Million a year and was a very frequent "commuter" to the protests/riots going on in Ferguson about 100 miles away

Oddly, there was never any concrete proof of the guy's claims of being yelled at with insults from a passing vehicle (no witnesses on a very busy campus ) and the claimed swastika drawn in a bathroom was never even pictured in this day of everyone carrying a camera on their cell phone.  Always thought swastikas were anti-Semite, not racist. And then we had Melissa Click

But, the lack of attendance at Football and Basketball games was largely because both teams were....less than good !  Basketball should be vastly improved this year...football....yet to be decided.

I cannot speak objectively about about this, for risk of severe backlash from people I respect. But suffice to say, Missou deserves it. When are people going to learn that you can't alienate 50% of the population?

It is a sad thing to think that mu being a midwestern pillar for sports and academics would not realize the financial burden of caving to sjw that just wanted attention. Anytime you fall down to this level there are consequences.  People don't want to be around those types of situations. Sad indeed...

I know this is my first post on this "information hub".  I have been checking this site daily for a couple of years.  I love reading the information that you fine people provide for all who come here.  I graduated from the University of Kansas and my father went to Kansas State.....I wanted my own path.  I truly feel for the University of Missouri.  This whole situation would do the same to nearly every university in our wonderful country if it happened in their neck of the woods.  The answer to these problems is love! Love each other and treat each other well. Our world would be much better place if more people thought that way.  By the way, thank you guys/women for helping other fisherman with your helpful information.
