Sure wish the ones that did that could have gotten busted. At least those boys had packaged them, kept them iced and prepared for eating. 3 holes gigs or hawaiian slings, 2 holes herons (but they eat them) one hole..Bfers 3 hours ago, Mitch f said: Blue herons they usually eat them can't say I ever saw one go on a killing spree like a fox weasel or bobcat 34 minutes ago, Greasy B said: It’s tradition. nah it would be smallmouths then MONKEYS? what monkeys?
fishinwrench Posted October 21, 2017 Posted October 21, 2017 There was 1 Smallie and 2 LM (that we saw), but mostly 12" rainbows. They had just stocked the week prior. My guess is that they stuck everything that came into the light. If it was a sucker it went in the boat, and anything else got shook off. That was pretty obvious. I reported it but I have my doubts that anyone even bothered to go confirm and investigate it. MOstreamer and Mitch f 1 1
dnj21 Posted October 21, 2017 Posted October 21, 2017 Slightly OT but caught a 3# LM this Spring that was stuck pretty good but what I can only assume was a very over confident Blue Heron: No idea how he thought he was getting that choked down!

fishinwrench Posted October 21, 2017 Posted October 21, 2017 You can't rule out a gig just because there's only one wound. Might have been a near miss.

grizwilson Posted October 27, 2017 Posted October 27, 2017 Man fined for illegal trout stash WES JOHNSON WJOHNSON@NEWS-LEADER.COM A Texas man was fined $116 for taking too many rainbow trout from Lake Taneycomo, court records show. According to the Missouri Department of Conservation, Frank Barnes of Timpson, Texas, was found to have 42 trout in plastic bags and in his boat’s live well during a recent fishing trip to Lake Taneycomo. Barnes could legally possess four rainbow trout, according to MDC. Conservation agent Christopher Boyd noted in his report that Barnes said he knew he could only keep four trout and asked the agent to “go easy on him.” Along with fish that were found in Barnes’ live well, Boyd also found plastic bags of frozen trout in the hotel lodge room where Barnes was staying. Barnes’ stepdaughter also was found to have more fish in her possession, but she was issued a warning from Boyd. Barnes was fined $74.50 for failing to keep the fish separate or identifiable and $41.50 for possessing too many trout. He also was ordered to pay $183 in court costs. MDC encourages people to report illegal fishing or hunting activity by contacting a local conservation agent or calling Operation Game Thief at 1-800-392-1111. “If a cluttered desk is a sign, of a cluttered mind, of what then, is an empty desk a sign?”- Albert Einstein
Quillback Posted October 27, 2017 Posted October 27, 2017 Not much of a fine for that many fish over the limit. Bass Yakker and grizwilson 2
