See what these guys say about what the bass eat here... https://www.flwfishing.com/news/2016-10-06-fall-is-on-the-way-at-lake-of-the-ozarks

Anybody that says there are no Threadfins here just hasn't been fishing here much, or doesn't know the difference.

Here's a quote from Chad Ferguson referring to catching bait on LO

Quote

About ten days later as I was headed in at the end of my trip I spotted him again, in the same area, throwing over and over again. I dropped my clients off and went back out to catch bait for my trip the next morning.

I threw a couple of extra times, got plenty of extra threadfin shad and gizzard shad and idled back over to him again and passed him a big gallon bag of shad.

its possible live thread fin shad made there way into LOZ with the mild winters we have had until this year, its possible that a population began and flourished in LOZ and other places across the USA

there are a plethora of studies on how species move north or south because of cyclic weather its been fadish to speak of for example how moose, and polar bears were under environmental stresses, as we have warmer decades species like armadillos, Opossums, even fire ants move north a bit each year, over a warm decade move quite a bit, then we have a bad stretch of winters and things get pushed back its natures way

be it iguanas in florida, or Possums in Minnesota to armadillos here nature makes the rules,  it it stays this cold for long every non cold adapted critter dies or it's population severely cut back, Science and "biologists" do not deal in absolutes and facts change thats why sampling is done.

I will be interested to see how the asian carp deal with extended cold in the upper Mississippi valley watersheds, nature abhors stability, get too much of something, then the things that eat them explode, or sickness slaps down a population, non native fish are at a disadvantage, native fish have had millions of years to adapt, usually it mans meddling that change the habitats, like heat islands in cities allowing things to get through the cold, or supply water in times of extreme droughts.

They've been in here as long as I can remember.

One ding-a-ling biologist, years ago, says  that Table Rock is as far north as Threadfins are prolific.....and look at what ya get.     This is why the crap that they spew, and the things they do drives me crazy.

Isn't the shad, the eagles that migrate follow the waterfowl. They know what good eats the ducks and geese are as does the BilletHead's. Of course you see eagles eating road kill and dead livestock on fields, Go figure

Even though I have thought good and hard about this they are a carrier of leprosy. Griz and I have a disclaimer. Armadillos are protected and if you kill one protecting your garden, yard, digging under buildings etc. you must report it and ask forgiveness to your local conservation agent. Discreetly dispose of the carcass so as to not alarm neighbors. You may choose to shoot, shovel and shut up too :) .  I once got a double one early morning in the dark with a machete. I can attest it was a bloody massacre. Even with this last cold front we had when sleeping on the porch last week I woke up to shuffling in the front yard leaves. Actually loud enough it woke us both up. I told the Mrs. It was another armadillo. Got up the next morning to find rooting right off the front screened in porch.  Normally they are nocturnal but in cold temps you can see them all day trying to find grub(s).

You can kill every armadillo you want that's causing damage.  Didn't see anything about needing dispensations from the skunk sheriff either.  :D https://mdc.mo.gov/wildlife/nuisance-problem-species/nuisance-native-species/armadillo-control

As interesting (and fascinating) as that might have been,  I'm not interested in any "true" facts.

I'm getting all the horse knowledge I could ever want right here.

These are the smartest guys I ever heard of!

I gotta say though, the farting fire part was pretty cool though........

Surprised it wasn't mentioned here.

Did you see that KU/WV game?  Impressive win by KU.

Yes I did and I still can't believe they won that game.  It was the first time since we played Kentucky in the national championship game have I sat down to watch a game expecting to lose and after the first ten minutes, I was just hoping we didn't get anybody hurt.

Although KU played some really good defense in the second half and hit some timely threes at the end, West Virginia just choked like dogs.  At about the 8 minute mark my brother and I both figured KU would get it down to 4 or 5 but then WV would hit a couple of threes, we'd make a turnover and they'd score again and it would get back to 10 or 12 and that would be that.

But WV just kept taking terrible shots and turning it over and then it was pretty evident that panic set in.

Great win though and a lot of times those ugly wins have been the difference when it comes to winning all those conference championships.

If Preston isn't cleared to play though I think the conference is about all they're playing for this year.  Graham just ain't a point guard and neither is anybody else on this particular team.  Us KU fans are so spoiled it's ridiculous.

K-State upsetting OU last night was kind of the icing on the cake for those of us that think the phrase Rock Chalk makes perfect sense!

Sorry for the longazz response to a "yes" or "no" question but I already admitted we're spoiled!
