Flysmallie gets it! I grew up on all the classics and have seen many a concerts in my day. REO, U2, Scorpions, Starship, Van Halen, and too many others I can't remember! lol All were good, except Joan Jett and the Blackhearts, her concert sucked. First album I ever owned was Lynyrd Skynyrd double live and I wore the crap out of it! Just after so many years I have decided to listen to more newer rock and I like it!

I get most of contemporary music in the form of Billy Strings. Seeing him live a couple times this summer.

Here’s what I’m listening to, and I’m not happy about it. It’s been running through my head, uninvited, for at least two weeks. Press play, if you dare😀

Geez. My mom loved Mac Davis. That reminds me of living room 1976 ish. Orange shag carpet and all.

Myself, of course🤪

It was almost forgotten about a week ago. Then I walked into the lunchroom at the office and I hear this guy say, ‘It’s like that song ‘It’s hard to be humble.’’  I kid you not. Thanks a lot Jerry C!

I came out of music photography retirement last Saturday night to go see some friends play in a big show. As I usually do, I started listening to the bands that I didn't know. It's much easier to photograph something if you have some understanding of what they are going to do and decide where you need to be for certain songs. However there were 5 bands playing that night so that meant I needed to listen to 4 of them heavily to figure it all out. Too much, lost interest, one band I never listened to anything. That band was The Descrepancies out of St. Louis.

They were the last band to play that night. It was late, I was tired, so I was just sitting at our table while they were getting setup. I had around 1,700 shots at that point and thought maybe I would just sit this one out. Just as they were getting ready to begin I noticed a spot up front that I could squeeze my fatass into. I had a couple of short ladies in front of me so I had a good view front and center. I don't know what I expected from this band but it sure wasn't what they delivered. Definately an experience.

Here's a little taste of what they sound like and some shots I got.
