Ham in days gone by we used to catch a lot of them in Feb. in upper BS from Snap Hollow to the Maiden Hole.  But I haven't been down there for a few years.

Me too. Late 70's & all thru the 80's it was "what, you didn't catch your limit" white bass area fishing. We even chased them all the way to the dam some years. Each year it got worse until we gave up.

Last trip a bunch of years ago we get word it's ON in Beaver creek.  Load up drive 4 hours south pull in to a huge crowd fishing and the first cast I catch a trout.  Never saw a white. never heard of one caught.  Drove home two days later after hitting Taney for more trout.

Many years ago i loved in Forsyth and any time you could see a ton of folks fishing it usually meant the fishing was good, but catching was bad.

I think guys guard crappie Spots a little more, but I hear you. As a point of clarification, I was asking IF it was happening and NOT where it was happening.

Since the arrival of cell phones I have been catching well on fly rod on both Swan and Beaver, someone shows up, I tell them what is working, pretty soon it looks like opening day at the trout parks.
