patfish Posted March 11, 2018 Posted March 11, 2018 @Flysmallie That is some wicked cool stuff there my friend. Keep it up and I look forward to numerous drone filled pic reports. Flysmallie 1
Flysmallie Posted March 12, 2018 Author Posted March 12, 2018 And there weren't a lot of fish caught but I was able to catch a few. All on the same bait. Did have one little 14 inch feisty smallmouth too. It really was a beautiful day out there. patfish and Bass Yakker 2
ColdWaterFshr Posted March 12, 2018 Posted March 12, 2018 What model of drone did you get? I've been wanting to get one, just can't commit. Very cool shots.
snagged in outlet 3 Posted March 12, 2018 Posted March 12, 2018 My buddy has the Phantom 4 and it's bada$$. My neighbor bought a cheapy and it flew away on the inaugural flight

When I started the search for a drone the Spark was the first one I eliminated from the list. But after doing a lot more research it kept coming up as the perfect option for me. Something small. Not overly expensive for a first drone. Reputable company, which eliminates a lot of problems like fly aways. I was going to go the Phantom route but when they were there both side by side I like the smaller size of the Spark. I'm sure I will outgrow it but that's fine. I'd rather be experimenting with a $400 toy than a $1,000 or more. You can get one through B & H photo right now for $349 and it comes with a free $120 remote control. Another $50 for an extra battery and you have a pretty good setup. The remotes are on backorder so I'm just controlling it from my phone for now. Daryk Campbell Sr 1
Flysmallie Posted March 12, 2018 Author Posted March 12, 2018 Here’s a example of video with no editing. It doesn’t record sound. The wind was blowing about 15 with some small gusts. I could hear the constant adjustments that it was making trying to hover in one spot. Video is still pretty smooth. timinmo, grizwilson, MOstreamer and 2 others 5
Flysmallie Posted March 12, 2018 Author Posted March 12, 2018 On second thought, the processing that YouTube does makes it look a lot worse. That may be since I uploaded through my phone.
David Unnerstall Posted March 12, 2018 Posted March 12, 2018 Hey, fly that over the topless beach in Pornichet, France. grizwilson 1
JestersHK Posted March 13, 2018 Posted March 13, 2018 The Sparks are awesome little Drones! Lots of tech packed into a small package. I inherited a Phantom I am trying to nurse back to health. Has a bad remote after a botched firmware update... The DJI family of drones are some of the better ones out there. At least when it comes to software and easy to fly settings and such. We just had 2 of our commercial grade drones crash after some flaky software. 30 grand in sensors and hardware lost in 30 seconds BilletHead 1
