Merthiolate Worms... ?

I heard a youtuber I watch mention merthialate worms. I'd never heard that term so I googled it. And found this specific to TR.

Never really see this mentioned on the forums. Mostly green watermelon, PBJ etc. Anyone had success with this on TR they don't mind sharing?

Yeah Fluke's and Senko's pretty much put the weightless Trick worm into extinction.

I’ve had a few good days on Bull with the orange trick worm. Never caught a big girl on one, but the bucks will smack them hard. Fun to watch that worm all of a sudden zoom off to the side about 6 feet when a bass picks it up and moves it. Honestly, it’s been best for me the same time top water heats up, and I find a spook a lot more fun to fish, so I haven’t given it anything more than a solid experiment. It will catch fish when the buck brush is flooded.

If you can see beds, they will eat a floating worm....they tend to get it and hook ups are high. It’s fun stuff and I’m glad they are falling out of favor 🙂

Oh the methiolate trick worm brings back good memories, we did well on them in the mid to late 90s at Bull and TR. still have a ton of them in all different colors and haven’t thrown them for years but methiolate was one of the first to try along with bubblegum. Was a great lure to throw with some wind when Lake was up in the buck brush.

I have caught alot of bass on that color when I was guiding up in Wisconsin. I have not tryed it on the Rock but  Don’t see why it would not work- let the fish tell you what they want! I will give it a whirl this spring!

A weightless trick worm is my go to lure when the water is really clear. Flukes and senkos are definitely better when the water has a little color to it though. I've out fished my buddies who were throwing flukes with that weightless trick worm too many times for it to be a "fluke" in clear water. The best part about it is that it has not only been a good numbers bait, but has also produced a lot of my biggest fish.

the first I fished Tablerock was two years ago in the Cops for Kids tournament in late May. I fished a big cove near the dam area the day before and day of the tourney and we caught fourteen keepers. Most of those were shallow fish that came on a pink trick worm so yes, it will definitely produce on the Rock.
