I feel about this the same as golf. If I have to follow the guy around because he might cheat me then I don't want to play with him or even associate with him. I mean, at what dollar amount does someone's personal integrity fly out the window? $5? Terrierman, fishinwrench, Daryk Campbell Sr and 1 other 3 1

How are they keeping people honest now? Dude I'm not just trying to dog on you alone even though I know it seems that way. But seriously, how are you keeping anybody honest now? You aren't and you can't. At least with technology you will eliminate a lot of it because there aren't guys that technology savvy enough to do it. Yes it can be done, but it's going to be difficult to do out in a boat and it's going to take up a lot more time. Heck of a lot more time than just getting a bass out of a cage or forcing him to swallow a couple ounces of weight. And I'm not against tournaments either. But these lakes and fish don't belong solely to tournament fisherman and I think that's where everyone gets a bad taste in their mouth. tjm and vernon 2

If your not a tourney guy, take your whinning and send the MDC a letter letting them know of your changes that you would like to assist them in helping with. If they see fit that your changes are a benefit for all involved, then we will jump on your bandwagon. Like i have stated before, show me a FACT that tournaments in ANY regards have hurt, depleated, or not brought money into an area. Cant and wont happen. So those that are not for tournaments "of any species" or dont fish them, really shouldnt be commenting on this post, that really wasnt about for/against tournaments. If your a food fisherman, theres plenty for ya out there. Go getem'. TinBoats BassClub. An aluminum only bass club. If interested in info send me a PM.

Must be a master of disguise because he looks different each time, or maybe it's just a common attitude. Fact is, I think he posted in this thread. vernon and evilcatfish 1 1

MoCarp Posted April 16, 2018 Posted April 16, 2018 Quote DNR personnel counted 601 dead largemouth bass and some 200 other fish of assorted species belly up in a six-mile stretch of the Mattawoman Creek, where tournament organizers had released fish after weigh-ins. The Washington Times reported "the stench of dead, decaying fish permeated the air." http://www.post-gazette.com/local/city/2009/08/02/In-catch-and-release-angling-competitions-freed-bass-still-face-risk/stories/200908020169 Terrierman 1 MONKEYS? what monkeys?

I've got nothing against tournaments. I used to love them and I'm still fine with them. I don't spend a lot of time worrying about what others are doing. But I will shoot holes in ignorant reasons for not changing. I don't hear anybody saying the economy will be hurt if you run off all the jet skis, wake boats, ocean liners, bowfisherman,.................
Sore Thumbs Posted April 16, 2018 Posted April 16, 2018 I see both sides Smallie. Not banging on you personally. I’m sure your a good person just like all the others I’ve met in here. I’d be fine with doing MLF style. I just don’t think it will happen on a larger scale because people love weigh-ins. Until they do I’ll have to keep participating the way it is. All I and others can do is educate on fish care and conserving our resources. They are starting to do this on Grand lake right now. There has been a slow gradual decline in size weighed in at tournaments. Local fishermen and GRDA had a meeting about it and are beginning to take measures to improve the lake. I don’t think that the powers to be care as much as we do. Unfortunately.

Just a coincidence that their planned study was just after a tournament. Not the facts i need. Thanks tho. TinBoats BassClub. An aluminum only bass club. If interested in info send me a PM.

That story tells EXACTLY whats been said. Millions of $$$$ dumped into the economy and other than stressed fish, things returned to normal. Gotta dig way deeper to help if thats what your trying to do. TinBoats BassClub. An aluminum only bass club. If interested in info send me a PM.
