There have been 17 meetings about this, and not a single voice was heard regarding the terminology.  Nobody thought to change the name to "Idle Speed Only" cove.

As a LOZ resident I'm unsure if this will help the situation. The excessive wake fine is reduced to just $25 with no court appearance, the guy with the 28 ' boat sure isn't worried about the fine.Is a $25 fine enough to help the shortage of Water Patrol we already have? Here on the upper end of the Niangua we could probably get 75% of owners to approve no wake, but our problem is not 40' boats, but 300 HP pontoons and 24' + - cruiser guys trying to pull 6 year old kids on a tube at 15 mph. I hope it helps but I don't see it.

The piddly fine isn't the point.  The MSWP nor the courts don't care about the wake infraction, what they want is probable cause for a stop that THEN leads to a genuine shakedown.

The wake makers may not be bothered by a $25 wake fine, but they darn sure don't want the state boys sniffing around everyone onboard, and that's what's gonna happen.

"Aww you made a wake.  Time for a safety inspection, everyone produce ID, and Hey captain....while they are producing ID and we run them for warrants I need you to blow on this hose".  "And by the way, what's that I smell?".

Detainment for a wake violation= about 30 minutes unless they find something more interesting, then your days over and everyone gets to go to City Hall in their speedo's and flip-flops.  Enforcing the law is a lucrative business, and these guys are professionals.

But, if you pull them over for wake, they can check for other violations. Just like the bs seatbelt checks.

So, it's good thing or a bad thing to pull checks for what ever? Are intoxicated captains a good thing or a bad thing?

That depends on who you ask but I'd like to see less people plowing into bluffs.

I would love to see no drunk captains.   I enjoy a good party,  and think everyone should.  DWI/BWI is inexcusable. My family is important to me.

Yeah I agree but, it ain't gonna happen. The more I think about it and every time I go boating I see complete stupidity...drinking and stupidity and boating is disaster time. I stay the hell away from that crap
