slothman Posted July 30, 2018 Posted July 30, 2018 I was doing quite a bit of rock climbing in college about the time I joined this forum. My climbing buddies always called me sloth because I was always slow to climb up the wall. Plus, I’m pretty tall (for a climber) and, at that time, fairly lanky like a sloth. fishinwrench, bfishn and Bass Yakker 2 1
jdmidwest Posted July 30, 2018 Posted July 30, 2018 I always thought billet had something to do with steel and you were in iron works Billet head. Mine is pretty simple. I went to log on somewhere and my name was used. Like others, it always asked for location, so my first two initials and Midwest. Nothing magical, but have never run across a duplicate anywhere. DADAKOTA Posted July 30, 2018 Posted July 30, 2018 When I first stated on the cafe I came up with DADAKOTA. Always a DAD first and Dakota was my yella duck dawg. So I combined them. the old cafe was a wild place.

The cafe and Riversmallies (in the early days) pretty much formed my online personna. You didn't last long around either of those places if you were easily offended or intimidated. ollie, laker67 and snagged in outlet 3 2 1

David Unnerstall Posted July 30, 2018 Posted July 30, 2018 ' Good thread, Ness. That is my real name. The picture is at Marble Creek camping about five years ago -- Bushmills and a cigar. Roger Willoughby is the character Rock Hudson played in "Man's Favorite Sport." (It is just a character in a movie and has nothing to do with Rock Hudson). He has become an authority on fishing and has never fished a day in his life. He has learned everything from hearsay. His employer does not know this and enters him in a fishing tournament. It is a hilarious movie. I can talk fishing with the best of them -- catching fish....now that is an entirely different issue. bfishn, KLiK and Johnsfolly 3

GloryDaze Posted July 30, 2018 Posted July 30, 2018 Screen Name is an ode to my college days, you know the old Glory Daze. Spelled with a "z" to clarify many of those years were indeed a daze. Named my first boat that as well, but it is not a personal nickname. Avatar is Hawksbill Crag to reflect my love for hiking. Follow me on Twitter @DazeGlory

David - I also love Man's Favorite Sport! It is hilarious when they discuss the proper etiquette of fishing tournaments when you look at what fishing tournaments are like now. Don't know how many anglers today would disqualify themselves due to a bear helping them catch a fish!
