I thought she had a job?

          Oh she does Ronnie,

Wednesdays and weekends we hobby together. Guess our incomes are not his and hers they go together in one fund. She has to work for insurance for one thing. Now for gearing up she has an equal autoloader shotgun just like mine that is hers, her layout blind and I guarantee she shoots her amount of shells. Then her three dedicated fly rods, waders just like mine too. Flys get tied in her preference of color combinations. As a matter of a fact the pink one from the fly swap you tied she got her mitts on pronto. She is half owner in our boats and has her own kayak. On and on I could go. On the plus side of this outdoor partnership. The Fringe Benefits are EXCELLENT !   Here is another example. Hunted Tuesday, Wednesday and Thursday. Solo Tuesday and Thursday. Should not be out there myself but I did. So Tuesday morning 4AM get up. Pat was out there helping me load at 4:45. Wednesday it was 3AM with her along. Yesterday another 3AM wake up and she was helping load at 3:45. This morning she awakes me at 3AM. I told her no last night. She says are you sure you don't want to go? No, go back to sleep I can't do another day. This gal starts plucking goose and duck breasts and I singe the pinfeathers off then fillet off the breast halves. If I get behind she singes and fillets off too. I really don't know why I deserve her,

Well if we're going to go beads and sliders, might as well screw one of these down on the front deck.

Well mine isn't going to pluck a goose but I'm still happy to have her. Not knocking it, I know it works for a lot of folks, but we never understood the his and hers accounts. There is one fund, ours. Bonus is that we never fight about money. I'm keeping back what needs to be kept and they can blow the rest. I don't care. And they usually do. :)

My wife is very good at deer shooting, (shooting only), and can catch fish given the chance.  Her taking up deer hunting has cost me a bit, but not bad as I would have found some other excuse to buy stuff.  She is useless at cleaning fish and shows no desire to get better either, but she doesn't complain when I am busily stocking up fillets either.  I have made dozens of those bead slider things, they work well.

Crappie guys around here all use these bead slider things to keep track of how many are in the livewell.IMG_20181109_131602294.jpg

Only allowed 12?  Not sure how that works.

I would rather depend on a mechanical device that rusts and fails and needs replacing every so often.

No 10 in the crappie tournaments I was in.  The top and bottom white beads are stationary and aren't part of the deal.

Good thing I count in my head if I ever fish with Gavin.

I only count bass, but count all bass I catch (when I'm counting...I don't count every trip like I used to because I don't keep records like I used to.)  Went for a while this afternoon, taking a break from working on the cabin.  Easy to count...5 largemouth and a bonus crappie, no smallmouth.

I think a lot of guys would be surprised at how many fish you DO catch on a decent (not great) day of fishing an Ozark stream.  I've fished with several guys and kept count of the fish we caught in my head, and when I asked them at the end of the day how many they thought we caught, they have always underestimated, often by close to half.

I have a rough enough time just counting 15 when crappie fishing.  Have come home a few times with 16 or 14.  I do anymore when I think I am at about 12 stop and count.  Funny how often that throws me off my game though and it may be a while before I catch another fish.  I certainly don't mind other folks who count them all just not my thing.  I don't like a feeling of unease when an agent counts/measures them for me, I do like to know what is in my deathwell.
