Pat nailed it !

The western U.S. ain't flyover country for me, I've yet to fish it.   I've been every other direction as far as you can go..... but I've never been West.  Gonna grab some Billethead maps and do that within the next couple years. No plans to cross any oceans though.  I'm a mechanic, and if you think I trust aircraft and the folks that build them, you're crazy.

I Travel for a living out in Kansas. I basically travel so other people dont have to. I set up sleep labs in rural hospitals so they dont have to travel to a larger city to get a sleep study.  So i guess either way someone is putting miles on. But some of the elderly people cant drive, so me coming to them is a real service.  Of course i could move to Kansas and make my travel much less, but after growing up fishing Table Rock, Bull and Lake O......there is no amount of money to get me to move to Kansas.    I drive a Newer Toyota Rav 4 now , and have also had a Subaru Outback, both very reliable.

I saw a Tuff Truck competition once that started off with 50 yards of 2' washboards followed by offset washboard humps on a left hand curve, then a jump into a pond followed by a right hand turn with BIGGER offset washboards, then a BIG JUMP and a jump over a ditch on the home stretch to the finish line.

Ford's, Chevy's, Dodges, and Jeeps were bouncing all over the place and parts (windshields, tailgates, hoods, and fenders) were flying everywhere.   Then here comes a stock Subaru Outback......Hammered through that course like a champ, not a single part went flying, and beat everybody's time by more than 8 seconds. 😄

Do you have to notify authorities when you leave that coveted 5 county area you're always crowing about??

In the last 10 years (2008-2017) only 3,788 people have died in aircraft accidents world wide. In that same time period 346,627 people have died in motor vehicle accidents in the USA alone.
