The 6# is even worse for getting knots to hold. I thought that might have been my problem. I think it’s more sensitive than braid if that’s possible.

Gotta go with the Mini-pads for extra sensitivity. jte54 and snagged in outlet 3 1 1
snagged in outlet 3 Posted December 11, 2018 Posted December 11, 2018 Not sure what you’re talking about but I guess if that’s the case I’ll take the word from someone with your experience on the matter. fishinwrench and Daryk Campbell Sr 2

I think Gavin brought up the triple surgeons. I used the alberto and the nano always broke on a hook set. I gave it two tries and gave up. I use 832 with the alberto and have never had a problem. I fished all weekend long with 6 lb nano tied with crazy alberto to 6 lb p line flouro clear and didn't break off ever unless it was bottom. And then it was 50 - 50 at the jig or at the nano-leader. You need to practice your knot tying skills son.
snagged in outlet 3 Posted December 11, 2018 Posted December 11, 2018 4 pound nano to 5x fluoro broke every time. But I could cast it a mile. Pretty confident in my knots.

Pretty confident in my knots. Flouro. There's your problem. Try the p-line flouro clear, no joke. I have my share of issues with straight fluorocarbon line - multi brands - too. And not always at the knot. You do know the p-line is only flouro coated correct? Johnsfolly 1

I cant imagine nanofil out casting or being stronger than braid. Sounds like its a pain in the but if the knots are that critical, not to mention double the price of braid Everyone should use what they like. Nanofil is my choice of line on most of my spinning rods. I don’t use nano at all on baitcasting. i use 6,8, and 10 lb white or chartreuse Nanofil. I want to see the line jump when a fish bites. I don’t think nano is picky about knots. Alberto or triple surgeons to join leader to nano. Double unit to connect nano to nano. I never tie it directly to anything with nano, but I would use a double Palomar if I wanted to do so. Nano most definitely out throws braid with 1/16 or 1/8 oz lures. It’s not close. I’ve used braid (Power Pro) and nano in similar diameters on the same rods/reels. I don’t throw 1/32 oz jigs on nano. I’ve gone back to 4lb mono or copoly for that. Nano is amazingly not for everybody I guess, but it’s made me a Happy Camper and better fisherman .
