This guy showed up in the yard a few days ago and seems to be getting more comfortable. He was there for about 10 minutes and didn't mind the camera flash.  I took this picture this afternoon. I hope he gets a good a good appetite for the abundance of squirrels we have.

We have had a fox den in a big rock pile about 70 yards from our back door for about 6 years now.  Oddly enough we seldom ever see them.  I only know they are still there because of the footprints in the last snow we had.

Very VERY sneaky critters.

We’ve got a few of them around my neighborhood in the burbs. They’re cool but kinda weird. They’ll just sit there and look at you sometimes, other times they’re really skittish. I haven’t seen them in months, but I know folks around here see them all the time. Often see them going in or coming out of the storm drains.

Had a Fox den under a huge pine in the back yard of my first home in Crestwood. I enjoyed watching them loaf & play out back. The dipsticks in the HOA were all scared of them and tried to exterminate them for years, but I never said boo about them. Had that pine cut down but left the stump before I sold that place 15 yrs ago. Stump was still there last drive by. We see a few in my current neighborhood. They like to use storm sewers for concealment & travel.

I enjoy seeing them. We had only one in our yard once when living in Columbia. At least that we know about. Have one running around behind our house here in Maryland. Seen one a few times and also tracks in the snow. That's a bigger concern since we now have our chickens. I won't move them into the yard until I can build a predator fence for their coop. Foxes are good climbers and diggers. Makes it a challenge keeping the ladies safe.
