You can get a $7500 plug in electric vehicle tax credit for your Tesla. Did 2 today. Can get more if you install a charger. Not refundable. If you don’t pay tax you won’t get any. My high end is all over electric cars and energy credits. HVAC improvements, windows & such, solar panels. They have others if a vehicle is delayed in service.

Electric cars are pretty darn cool, but if you're in the camp that thinks that if more people had them then we'd save the world, don't forget to consider that it takes a considerable amount of fossil fuel to produce the components needed to build one.  Mining and producing copper, steel, lead, mercury, various insulators, magnets, and doing lots of case hardening.  

I haven't spent 30 seconds studying any of this, but my initial thought is that they somewhat resemble wind turbines in the sense that it takes more fossil fuel to produce one than it can possibly save in it's usable lifetime.  The end result being a push at the very best, as far as environmental benefit is concerned.

Maybe they should begin by making electric bulldozers, cranes, dump trucks, kilns, freight trains, and semi-trucks first.   Cars and other means of personal transportation is quite a ways down the line.

Somewhere I have a pic of me driving mine with my chihuahua on my arm looking out the window, put 75k miles on that one, I always had a love affair with muscle cars, had a few 73 challenger, 75 Camaro, 83 camaro...I blame my mom for it she had a 66 nova super sport 327 and a glide she would need to “air out the carburetor “ and blast across the big creek dam on the way to my grannies, took my drivers test in a GS powered 70 455 Buick wagon,

dad always had the biggest baddest engine in anything he drove, 454  four speed 73 Chevy truck he pulled the camper with

They still make chargers 5.7 hemi mine was an 07
