When it comes to pollution there is no question that humans in general are the worst offender.  Yes I know that volcanos can and do put out huge volumes of ash etc, however I don't believe the put out large volumes of TCE's or dioxin etc.  However as humans we are unique in that we can recognize what is happening and take steps to reduce it or even reverse it in some places.  It is our responsibility as a species and good stewards of our environment and planet to do what we can to take care of it and correct "sins of the past" as it were.  Not all of which are equal, would I love to see a safe, reliable, and sufficient power source that produces zero pollution, and harms nary a single critter and it be affordable?  Sure I would, who wouldnt, but until that comes about it is all going to be about what is feasible, economically, environmentally, politically and socially.

I would welcome it.  I have no outstanding debt with the IRS either.
