Oh I’m always good let it ride for another bet. It’s my only flaw😆

That's a very minor flaw.  I've always admired you from afar and now it's nice to know why.

Facts only change as science improves.

Yep. Fortunately, while social media debates the pros and cons of renewable energy, there's a bunch of really smart and motivated people that have grasped the concept of selling sunshine and wind...

My Grandpa had a windmill that spun a 12V generator that powered a pump that filled his stock tanks before he ever got electricity. Long after the neighbors had REA power , he refused to connect.

People are funny creatures.

If for nothing else, this thread has been solid gold when it comes to revealing who I need to ignore.

Kinda like home schooling kids to

“ protect the narrative”

yet when they get into the real world to learn truths they get mad and mom n dad.

Whaddaya make of a bunch of guys that throw a fit about you being a "welcher", and then when you, WITHIN MINUTES, say "Fine, I'll pay right now", they then say...... Nope, I don't want it ?  😶

It's like arguing with a bunch of 13 year old females.  And the hell of it is.....I didn't even start the argument to begin with, I was just defending my right to have an independent thought.

1. They've got these things called power transmission lines that can take power from where it is produced to where it is needed.  I bet you've seen them before.  Is there not wind in the ozarks?

2. Of course, farmer's make some $$$ on that deal as well.

3. I'm guessing the insurance policy on a nuclear power plant or coal fired plant isn't exactly cheap.  I have no idea how often they are taken out by tornado's, maybe you can spend some time finding that info yourself? What happens if a coal or nuke plant gets hit by a tornado? Flood? Earthquake?

You made me curious as I sit here awaiting the well repair guy to show up so I released my Google foo.  Wind turbines appear to very tough where high wind is involved, they have a sensor that will cut out the generator when wind speed hits whatever the level is set at, say 55mph.  It will then begin to feather the blade angle so they don't spin.  Several have even gone through hurricanes and gone back on line as soon as wind speeds dropped back within limits.  Some didn't survive, seems the Chinese made ones in particular.  A direct hit from a EF5 tornado has higher wind speeds, but a much smaller footprint, so a big tornado could carve a path through a big wind farm might take out some of them but not all.  Pretry cool to me, had never really thought about it before.

That's pretty awesome!   I would have thought as many tornado's as they have in that region that anything designed to catch the wind would be as doomed as a trailer park.

If we had earthquakes as often as Kansas has tornado's then YEAH that would be a real problem for dams.
