To me the Irony is Thanksgiving....we are praying to be grateful for what we have, then the next day we get up early to stand in line at a retailer for mega sales. But I guess we’re kind of saying the same thing

I refuse to shop the weekend after Thanksgiving. No "deal" is worth that BS. Christmas capitalism can suck it.

The only black Friday sale that I've felt was worth the BS was Redhead jeans at $10 a pair. The BassPro in Columbia was close to home and was never as stupid as Wally world. More civilized. I could get two or four pairs for $20 or $40. Then back to bed😀. They last 3 to 4 yrs for me. Still think that was a good deal.

Christmas around here starts AFTER thanksgiving.   And then it’s more about getting together than gifts.  Even my kids don’t do gifts anymore.

Back in the day, Bass Pro had Zoom at 50% off. I may have bought a bunch of soft plastic that day. That was worth getting up for, IMO. 

In general, I don’t participate. TBH, I’m 2 plus hours away from anywhere that has lots of shopping options so it’s kind of a non starter for me.

Being a "get off my lawn" kind of guy, (Well maybe not quite that bad). lol  I have always struggled to be among the masses at Christmas time. The transition to on-line shopping was an answered prayer. That is as close as I will get to a department store for the next couple of months!!!

My wife’s family are so excited about Black Friday that they all go ape shot. They are so jazzed and smiling that i guarantee that it’s super enjoyable for them. Their whole culture revolves around money....saving money, coupons, free stuff, etc. it’s hard for me to fathom sometimes, but I get used to it.
