And the person who decides that racist or sexist tendencies are a BAD THING is called a.... what?

While I agree that judging someone based on gender or skin color ALONE (without even giving them a chance) is not cool, you are a liar if you claim no initial concern based upon it.

My wife, who rips on me constantly about my "racist/sexist attitude", does quite a bit of buying/selling/trading via Facebook marketplaces.  If she is meeting another white gal there's no hesitation or concern whatsoever, but if she's meeting a guy she needs someone to tag along with her.  If she's meeting a black guy, or a Mexican dude....oh buddy....she wants ME to go with her, and wants ME out of the truck FIRST.       Now what kinda hypocritical crap is going on there ?

Has she ever had a problem with a black or Mexican fella?   Nope, never.

So what up, ya Ho?!!??

People are so full of BS and phoney !   It's real, everybody is like that, so own it and stop claiming to be non-judgemental when you obviously are, just because somewhere along the line someone decided that people shouldn't be that way.  There's a reason for it and you know it......but we ain't getting into that HERE.

I completely agree Wrench.  I go through the same thing with Kathy all the time.

And I am not for a second trying to imply that I stand above the fray and don't make unjustified judgements about people or groups cause I do.

We are all to at least some extent products of our environment and we spend everyday of our lives learning and adjusting fire based upon experiences and behavior.

Nothing wrong with that.

But it kills me that the people that declare themselves to be "inclusive" and "diverse" are in real life the exact opposite.

In reality, they want nothing to do with anything "diverse" or that doesn't align with their ideology and that's nonnegotiable.

"Inclusiveness?"  Please.  They want to include everyone except again those who don't fall in line with their beliefs and way of thinking.

The radicals (on both sides) aren't interested at all in what's best or right or wrong only in taking over and compelling everyone else to fall in line.

Or else.

Don't stand in judgement of me, they say as they stand in judgement of us and everyone else.

Dang shame that meaningful discourse and debate along with common sense and logical thinking is all but dead.

But then again so am I so there's that........

Lost of truth there Wrench.  Anyone who thinks they are not at any level is just a liar.  I find the ones who preach tolerance are the ones least tolerant when things don't go or end up the way they want it.

Vernon.    Our kids are most definitely "indoctrinated" by the education system and it shows by the product it turns out.

Oh, no question.

And the educational system is everything.  It was one of the very first things that Hitler seized control of.

I was just trying to point out that someone saying that because they didn't take political classes in college proves that they were not indoctrinated while there doesn't hold water.

But most importantly, it doesn't even matter.  What matters are your beliefs and actions and if you believe old white guys are "entitled" or somehow inferior to yourself then you are the racist and the sexist - not them.

Bigotry welcomes all comers ya know.

As for the educational system, I thought Charles Krauthammer summed it up pretty good years ago when he said,  "Conservatives gave up the fight the day they walked away from the college campuses."

Gonna be tuff to get that Genie back in ANY bottle now.

Man, I need to go fishin'.

My wife and I talk to our youngest (Junior in college) all the time about "our" beliefs and political leanings.  And we explain to her that it's our job to do that not the school.  The school is for the 3 R's and we handle the rest.  It's easier to have the conversation after she gets a pay check from her part time job and she says "they took out taxes, dad!".:)

Most likely if I get killed during a meet somewhere it will be by the quiet, female that I am not watching and not her long hair significant other.  I have no qualms about saying I watch certain types of people more closely, so what, I do the same with dogs.  It's ALWAYS that darn cocker spaniel or poodle type that bites me.

Good for you.  And, yes, those pesky taxes can get a conversation back on point in a hurry!

Way back in the early 70's when I was at KU, Lawrence was like most other universities of the time.  Very anti-war, pro love, hippie, liberal left but it wasn't everywhere like it is over there now.

There were more left leaning professors than right but at least there were some conservative thinkers and it made a difference.

Just a modicum of debate and discussion in the classroom gave us a taste of how the other side saw things and made it thought provoking to try and figure out where you stood.

Heck, one day I was a flag waving Nixon guy and then after an evening with one of those long, tall, blonde flower power chicks I was ready to save the whales!

The whole deal is just about listening to each other even if just a little bit.

Unfortunately, now it's either THIS or you're a racist, sexist, homophobic hater who must be silenced.

I greatly preferred the flower power chicks myself.

My daughter has the same affliction as I do (her thoughts fall immediately out of her head and spill right out her mouth), causing 2/3 of her alumni to avoid contact with her.....but oddly enough they all quiet down and listen closely when she speaks.   😊

What?  There's hope?

Although that's kind of a scary alternative to the far left.

What's next?

Wrench derangement syndrome?

I'd be proud to be considered a member of your "base"!
