Take solace in the fact that there is 320M people in the US and less than 1 million US cases. Also look up number test vs. number positive.

Statistically speaking provided you have followed the guidance and haven't been told you've been directly in contact with someone who is positive, then the chances are good its something else.  None the less do the right thing and quarantine and take care of them which you will.

Im a recluse... really rarely go out. My wife does/did but she had curtailed her dog walking job, but even when she was still doing it she wore a mask and rubber gloves because Her and Mom are High Risk. My Son is a Manager at HyVee so he is in the front lines.. I figured it was going to come here sooner or later because of that dynamic.. We live between Linn And Johnson County in Iowa..Two of the 3 heaviest infected counties.

Come what may.. Im now a rubber gloved, face masked, temperature taker, food preparer, pill giver, caregiver, bread winner / still have a 9-5 job I have to perform...At least my boss is a good guy and said you focus on what you need to do. I have been a home worker for over 15 years now so thats at least one thing I dont have to adjust too...

Absolutely mind blown at the lack of concern in small town USA. I went around town just to see how people are or aren't trying to stop the spread. I sat in Dollar General parking lot for 15 minutes. Watched 19 people come and go. At one point there were at least 12 inside the store not including employees. Nobody wearing a mask. Nobody wearing gloves. Next stop gas station, lunch time. Parking lot full. 9 vehicles parked. 3 at the pumps. Nobody pumping wearing a mask or gloves. Nobody entering or leaving wearing masks or gloves. In a ten minute time frame 19 different people touched the door with bare hands going in and again coming out. Gross, talk about germs! Estimated as many as 7+ inside at one time plus employees. One of 2 gas stations here ,the next closest one is 18 miles down the road , so Everyone stops here when passing through. Where did they come from? Where have they been? No way of knowing..

Next stop hardware store. Senior gathering at the front door. 4 gentlemen in their 60-70's having a chat. No masks. 7 vehicles in the lot. Nobody in them. Watched for ten minutes. Watched 9 different people touch the doors outside to go in.

If one person has it and sneezes or coughs  by you at any of these places, too bad so sad.

no gloves,no masks. Not 1 person anywhere. These people need to Wake the fu** up! I They are not being responsible!!

I got gas this morning, wore gloves to pump, put on my mask to go inside, stood at least 6' from everyone else. Had to ask 2 young girls to step away from me they were too close. The one gave me a dirty look. So what . All the people inside  did was stare at me,some giggled. I just paid and left.

Thanks for doing your part to help stop the spread😠. Enjoy your day while the rest of us do what we can to help.

I am not wearing gloves. I am also not wearing a mask in public. NOBODY is going to convince me that if you are coughing or breathing and releasing virus that anything short of a full blown respirator that seals around your face CORRECTLY is going to provide enough protection especially in enclosed spaces. It just doesn't add up. Its like trying to use reading glasses to keep dust out of your eyes. Sure you can say lessen your viral load but you can only use that excuse under true must take chances situations.

I had to visit tractor supply as I have several thousand $ of fertilizer sitting on a buggy to be spread and a broke part. I had to go in to get some pins.

A group of people standing around the chick pens, all wearing masks, looking at the chickens. Most of them rubbing shoulders.

I went around 2 isles to avoid them. Got my pins and little old lady in mask and gloves comes up to me, touches me on the shoulder and says, "son you really should have a mask on, you don't know what you could be spreading"

Masks and gloves are going to cause more problems then they solve by giving false security. Sure I can see it as a blanket of extra protection when all other precautions are taken but clearly at this point they are nothing more than a substitute for common sense.

Hang in there. I have had 3 employees get the symptoms over the past few weeks. None have come back positive.

You're probably right.  If this crap isn't airborne then the cold hard fact is that there are just way too many booger pickers out there.

The virus in aerosol from cough or sneeze can be airborne for up to three hours, in test conditions. It is just not airborne in the manner that dust or smoke is.

You could hardly be more wrong.  Take every step you can to reduce risks is the only smart move.

If you don't want to make an effort to stop the spread that's cool. I'm not taking any chances when I'm surrounded by people breathing on me in line and touching things I buy at the store. If gloves and a mask might help prevent me from getting it or spreading it, then I'm going to do it.

It's really not cool.  It's dangerous for people around him and especially so for health care providers.

Everybody has their beliefs, so I'm cool with it in that sense. Even if my opinion is different and I completely disagree.

So, let's say YOU end up with the virus. It doesn't show itself for a couple weeks, right? You're out without a mask. Any responsibility on your part to those people you infect?

I don't buy the argument that masks cause more harm than good. If it keeps some things out of your nose or mouth, including your own fingers, you're better off. I get that you shouldn't feel that you're bulletproof wearing a mask and take unnecessary risks, but it's better than not having one on -- whether you're sick or not.

Personally I feel it's irresponsible at this point to get out any more than absolutely necessary, and to be out without taking precautions such as wearing a mask.
