Back to the subject of the thread.  Can someone please explain the reluctance to wear masks?  Protective of yourself and others.  How did the mask become the political symbol it appears to be, at least in some circles.  It's not a sign of weakness, oppression or fear.  Why won't the state and federal leaders model a behavior that is protective of the public health?  I honestly do not get it.

I still wear mine most of the time, and I don’t care if people think it’s a sign of weakness, I’ll keep doing it anyway. At least until I feel like it’s safe.

My dad was an Air Force MP and my older brother a Marine.  When I graduated HS I had alot of pressure to join the military but I wasn't in agreement with what the government and the military was doing at the time. We had to register with selective service so there was a chance that I wouldn't have an option, but as long as I did my decision was... Hell No!

The guys that did enlist, when they came back, they HATED IT, had nothing good to say about the experience.  But of course now they thump their chests, tell amazing stories, and demand extra respect for being "veterans".  Sadly to say nearly everyone that I personally know that did a stint in the military is an alcoholic, drug abuser, sick and broke down mentally, or has their life ruined in one fashion or another.   Being a veteran is the only thing they have to be "proud" of.     It's just not cool. 😕

Masks keep a lot of nasty stuff out of my nose and mouth, including my fingers. Masks also keep nasty stuff that comes out of my nose and mouth from getting on other people.

Win win.

I will be the first to admit that I don't wear a mask as often as I should.  Grew up welding and many a time at end of day the black nasty gunk I blew ut of my nose would make me think about, hmm that might not be healthy.  I do wear them currently when I go into dr appt etc., but the feeling claustrophobia I guess really gets to me when I wear one.  And yes a large chunk of the American population simply bristled up and said heck no you can't make me wear one.  Where as if say a governor had said OK, I am going to ask you to wear a mask any time you possibly can, I am asking it as a sign or respect and need your help.  Then every time you see them they should be wearing one on TV or whatever.  You simply cannot legiate something that although a place of business essential has every right to not let you in if they have the mask wear rule posted, at that point it is your option to follow the rules or shop elsewhere.
