Seriously, what is the end game of all this?

I think the end game is that alot (maybe all) of us will be infected to a certain degree and our bodies will fight this virus.  Most of us will get over it, but some of us will die.

The big (talking point) focus is on the healthcare industry and how hard they'll be hit, and whether they'll run out of beds and supplies, but the fact that everybody seems blind to so far is that the healthcare industry is not saving anyone.   To my knowledge there hasn't been a single person survive this yet who can attribute their survival to being under a doctor's care.   Being monitored by a team of people wearing scrubs is not improving the survival rate.....and "monitoring" is all any hospital has done thus far.  So the end game will be the same as if we never had a name for it, and just assumed it was a wicked bad chest cold.

At least that's the way I see it.

moguy mentioned social media.  I thought about that yesterday.  What would the situation be if this was 1990? Would it even be an issue? Any "news" would be limited to national news at 5 or the local news at 6, and maybe an article on page 3 of the newspaper.

QB mentioned the lounge over at BBC.  There sure is a lot of different perspectives over there, but you do get a good oversight of fisherman from the rest of the country(for what that's worth)

Social Distancing - I have been getting better and better at that each year since I retired.

Seriously, what is the end game of all this?

Yes have thought about that myself - instead of tossing out the TV, we should be tossing out the internet.  Or maybe both.

Watched a little bit of the guv's proclamation that he was shutting down schools, he mentioned that the CDC said it was not necessary, but due to "concerns" from parents, and teachers they were going to shut down.  You can bet those concerns are driven by social media.  And maybe it is the right thing to do, but who knows?  We've got so many social media experts out there that it is getting hard to filter out the noise.

our area schools just announced a shut down, starting Wednesday???  Huh?  If this thing is expanding exponentially as advertised, a 2 day delay is essentially useless.

I just try to make common sense out of everything.  When things happen that don't make sense to me, I ask questions.  I am 63 years old, and have lived through several end of the worlds, so I feel semi qualified to ask questions.  For example, I spent the better part of an hour searching for a reliable source to track the corona death rate in the USA.  CDC only updates their page at noon Mon thru Fri.  Where does the medial get all their data 24/7???.  For that matter, where do you guys get your data?

I look at this link, numbers seem to match up with other sources, but who knows?

yea, I found that one, but unless I am missing something, it doesn't show the number of deaths related to corona in the USA, and it has not been updated since last night. It is definitely not user friendly

Well then there is this one (somebody posted it on BBC).  Easier format.  Personally I think they all use the same data, they just show it in different formats.

thanks! but 63 deaths as of right now on the top table.  But 120+ plus on the USA table just below.  Another thing to make you go hmmmm..
