Used to kow some folks who wuld come and collect them but don't anymore. I always though bees were cool but never will have the knowledge or skill to raise them. Besides I am not really that fond of honey, don't dislike it but other than occasionally in tea I never think about it. You could count on one hand how many teaspoons of honey I eat raw each year. I do cook with it. When I was young, I saw right off the bat, "them bugs have dirty feet Grandpa". And I never eat much honey. Now that my tastebuds are screwed, sweet does not taste right. snagged in outlet 3
Hey @Johnsfolly My juniper bonsai made it another winter thanks to you. 👍. I just dug it up. Buried it in the pot. This is the third spring. Should I repot it? Or can you recommend anything to help? Thanks again. It would’ve died on my kitchen table if not for you. ness
Got the rest of the schtuff into the ground this weekend. Maters, peppers, lettuce transplanted finally. Planted seeds for another crop of lettuce. Beets and bush beans started. Snap peas, chard, radishes popping up. Put up some plastic fencing to keep the dang critters out. So far, so good. Looks like a perfect week for getting things started. BilletHead, Quillback, tho1mas and 2 others 5 John
Quillback
The broccoli is doing well, crowns have formed and I'm thinking in another 2 weeks I can start harvesting some. Haven't grown brussels sprouts before, but the plants look healthy. Planted some cantaloupe and cukes this weekend. ness
Gotta love Mother Nature. She's been been a pest all spring with late freezes, winds, too much rain. Finally get a break and the weather looks pretty good temperature-wise for the next week. Then this morning they say we'll get t-storms tomorrow and maybe some hail too. BilletHead
Boy all of the work done here is great! Jeff nice plants . We finished planting everything but one tub. It actually has lettuce from last falls planting. Some of my fall lettuce did not make very well. This tub had little small plants that made it through the winter. Amazing the plants made it. We will get them picked, stir up the dirt and get a pepper in it. It is the tub in this pic. The rest is assorted peppers, More tomatoes and three peppers, Six rows of sugar snap peas and six cubanelle peppers,Lettuce and baby bok going crazy These six tomatoes were planted last Thursday. It got so windy Saturday we used some of that pallet wrap plastic to wrap the bottoms of the cages. It was like a mini green house with out the tops. I swear those things grew a couple inches Saturday and up until I shot the pics yesterday afternoon. So after we get through the storms Ness and Quillback spoke of come through. I will be between those two gents and get hit with the same front. I will see if I need to replant. If I do I have replacements for tomatoes and peppers. What is left I will be gifting out to anyone. Quillback
Marty, that is one heck of a garden you have there! Just watched the local weather forecast, we could be seeing some straight line winds up to 80 MPH. I'm not liking that at all. Dang weather... Nothing like that kind of wind up here according to NWS. Gusts to 32 on Wednesday night is as high as they are calling for here. Stay safe.
