The Big Bass Tour subject of adding weigh-in locations just ain't gonna happen. JohnnyMart is a major sponsor --- perhaps the primary one --- and by gosh they are gonna make everyone drag their fish to Long Creek Marina --- yes, owned by Johnny --- regardless of how many fish are dragged dozens of miles away from their home.

Plus POK is not exactly fisherman friendly.

Our club has a regatta permit for 28-29 March from the MO  St Highway Patrol. Not sure if the Corps is cancelling these permits, or would MO do that? State permit, on a Corps lake.

We have to get permits from both agencies. COE cancelled all TRL special event permits.

There needs to be a better way to score that doesn't involve relocating the fish from the cove/area they were caught in....OR there needs to be WAY fewer tournaments.     That's the only smart options.

Not sure if it's been mentioned but it's called tourney x.  Just like the kayak guys use.  You can set up tourneys that last a day a weekend or a whole month.  5 longest total fish win... snap a photo, release immediately.  Pretty secure process involved as far as cheats go and all.  Can restrict it to one lake or open it to a couple or a few or nation wide.  For us it's be cool to have something like TR, BS and Stockton all included..7 day time frame... longest in inches 5 fish caught.  You can put money in the digital pot and depending on pot size have a lie detector for top 3 or something...idk,just a thought on how to still get that higher level of competition involved and widen the scope of possibilities and all fish are returned immediately where they are caught so the negative impact to the species is completely minimized.

Check out tourneyx site for more details and all the rules and processes... pretty cool.

Hmm...didn't read where anyone was "bashing Tournament fishermen"  slowbait,  just expressing much deserved concern for the future of the resource and the sport and commenting on how the fish were poorly handled and ridiculously relocated./transported....especially during the Spawn season !    Ever increasing angling pressure on the limited numbers of lakes require a change or there won't be much of a future.   Who is it....MLF (there are so many organizations I've lost track) who finally does the catch, measure and release at boatside and deserves much credit for doing so ?

If you voice any concerns regarding the relentless shuffling of bass, you are immediately catagorized (by the pro fisherman wannabes) as an anti-tournament, tree hugging idiot.   There's a handful around here that are reluctant to bring their boats to me for service...,so believe it or not they will have their dad, uncle, or brother drop it off and pick it up.   🙄 Whatever.

I've had many conversations/debates about it, and so far nobody has answered my favorite question, which is simply......If the amount of fish relocation going on NOW is not a problem, then at what point would you agree that it was?     Where can the line be drawn?    Even MDC elects not to reply to that question.

These guys really relocated some tourney fish.

The Facebook/Instagram warriors are the worst.  They not only fish 2-4 tournaments every week, they also haul every keeper fish around in their livewell.... even when they aren't in a tournament.

Bass are home range critters, nobody seems to get that.  You can't "pattern" fish that are perpetually lost.
