Hunter53 Posted May 12, 2020 Posted May 12, 2020 Since the virus stopped us from coming down this year we did some fishing up here. Have had decent luck up here (other than splitting my lip open) when it wasn't too windy to get the bass boat out. It was too windy to get the bass boat out on a bigger lake up here a couple times so we went to the in-laws pond and largemouth fished. We did 'alright' with 30lbs 1oz for best five the first day(pics below) in 4 hours of fishing with a 6-14 the biggest, a 6-7, 6-0, 5-6 and 5-6. Fished it one other day for 5 1/2 hours and caught 3 over 6lbs and 6 over 5lbs and a few 4+ but didn't keep track of 5 biggest that day. We still would have preferred to be down there but at least this was a good consolation prize. abkeenan, LD Fisher, snagged in outlet 3 and 9 others 11 1
willyfish Posted May 12, 2020 Posted May 12, 2020 What a tough consolation prize. It must suck to catch 5 and 6 pounders all day! snagged in outlet 3 and Hunter53 1 1
Gavin Posted May 12, 2020 Posted May 12, 2020 If you have that why leave? Good for you. Hunter53 and skeeter 2

vernon Posted May 12, 2020 Posted May 12, 2020 Wow! Looks like one those “lakes” Bill Dance used to fish all the time on the TV! snagged in outlet 3 and Hunter53 2 "Never underestimate the power of stupid people in large groups." George Carlin "The only money ever wasted is money never spent." Me.
Bill Babler Posted May 12, 2020 Posted May 12, 2020 Good Client of mine has a 26 acre lake on one of his farms at Savannah, Mo. His daughter caught this monster there 2 weeks ago. He is a Dr. and money is not an object they built the lake 20 years ago with a maximum depth of 60'. Huge undertaking. He stocked it 12 years ago with Florida F1 bass. He puts about 500 lbs of shiners a year in for both the F1's and Northern LM, He also stocks it with the fast growing sunfish, and believes that the bass eat them too. They didn't have a scale but the bass measured 27 inches on a yard stick. Said they also found about 150 morels. Sorry about the photo quality I just sent it to myself and took a picture to post it was coming up Jpeg and my computer won;t handle that. Champ188 Posted May 12, 2020 Posted May 12, 2020 Hey Dave, would love to have seen you guys but glad you had some fun pulling on those big pond fish. Hope you'll get down here this fall. You both look great! Hunter53 and vernon 2
Bill Babler Posted May 12, 2020 Posted May 12, 2020 Great fish. Your going to have to get some blue paint for that boat. Hunter53, dtrs5kprs and vernon 2 1 http://whiteriveroutfitters.com http://whiteriverlodgebb.com
Fish24/7 Posted May 12, 2020 Posted May 12, 2020 Thank you for helping stop the spread, nice bass too! If only more people would follow CDC guidelines about unnecessary travel.

For 2 we really like catching smallies. When down there we always focus on the smallies; any other fish is just a bonus. snagged in outlet 3, Champ188 and dtrs5kprs 3
