It will not be, but I do find it Very interesting that there are all but Zero stories about Covid 19 in other countries anymore. Is Covid 19 not an issue around the planet? Are we doing better or worse than other countries? It seems like if we were doing worse then it would be important to know how we could improve. It seems like if we were doing better than some of countries that the Trump administration would deserve a liottle credit for that. Every Saint has a past, every Sinner has a future. Seth Posted September 10, 2020 Posted September 10, 2020 India and Brazil are closing the distance on us. They are both up over 4 million cases now. It won't go away after the election, but depending on who wins will determine the tone set by the media in relation to it.

The world is at 200-300k cases per day with 5-6k deaths per day, so no it hasn't disappeared. India getting slammed, Mexico has run out of "death certificates". Positives are generally under reported in many countries in comparison to the US, as we have the luxury of testing that many lessor developed nations don't. That being said, our lake house is visited weekly by friends and family, and we do pretty much the same stuff we've always done. Can't think of a better place to "quarantine" than the white river in December. nomolites, gotmuddy and BilletHead 3
gotmuddy Posted September 10, 2020 Posted September 10, 2020 I am not letting it dictate how I live my life. Anyone who is friends with me on FB knows that. Are we doing better or worse than other countries? US numbers of new positive cases are declining, but still between 50 and 30K cases/day since 7/31 with 27K case on the 7th. As @Seth pointed out India and Brazil are having an increasing trend in new positive cases. India has 53 to 90K case per day since July 31st, Brazil 13 to 50 K cases/day. Some countries like Spain and France are experiencing what looks to be a substantial second wave in terms of new daily positive cases with 3 to 25K / day in Spain and 1 to 7 K cases /day in France since 7/31. Both of those countries had ca. 5 and 10% mortality per positive case in the first wave whereas the US is around 3% mortality per the number of positive cases (194K deaths per 6.47 million positive cases).

Here is why, Media has a dog pile mentally sometimes depending on the top news stories. When things are a hot topic in the media here we hear just that. When all is quiet here we hear about other things in the news. Right now the dog pile mob is in one fight and more digs are jumping in on both sides. I am ready for the water hose to come out and spray them down. Both sides. I heard that sentence at my buddy's college graduation from Rolla. I graduated from HS, but that was where I stopped. I have heard the statement many times, and many ways, you are responsible for your actions. I understand that. But now, upon hearing this, I realized, I am also responsible for my inaction. I knew this before, but hearing it, made something really click. All of that to say, you are right. But also I have higher chances of bringing it to you all. I am responsible to keep from infecting the others. I am more worried about affecting others. I wont drink and drive, not because I'm afraid to die, but because I am afraid to kill others and I will live.
