Does anyone even know what they are protesting/rioting about?

The douchebag cop and his co-horts were fired and charged with murder right away.  Justice is being tended to.  So what exactly do the protesters want ?

That Candace chick is an attention troll wannabe.  Where she gets it wrong is when she says people are trying to make George Floyd a "hero".  I don't think thats the case at all.  No one is out there promoting George Floyd's resume.  What the F is she talking about?

People are rightfully upset about Floyd because 3 police officers committed murder in in broad daylight and in a pretty gruesome manner -- 8 minutes with a knee on his neck while he was handcuffed, facedown, and begging for his life.  Let me repeat that.  Police officers committed murder.  Thats upside down, isn't it?  They are not judge, jury, and executioner.

The Michael Brown deal was an entirely different situation.  Brown had just committed an act of thuggery (shoving the shop owner as he stole from the store and walked out).  Then he disobeyed and attacked the police officer, and by all accounts of the investigation, went for the officers gun.  It was unfortunate all the way around.  The police made terrible mistakes by letting his corpse lay in the street for hours on end and were not very forthcoming with information.  That led to a lot of mistrust and understandable outrage which was naturally fanned by the media.  Hindsight, I don't think anyone can look back and say Michael Brown was a hero, or officer Wilson was a hero, but the end result is pretty ugly stain . . . a culture of open racism was prevalent in that police station, and an 18 year old unarmed black man was killed.  Hard stop.

And then you have all these other more recent incidents.  Ahmed Arbery, gunned down by racist vigilantes while going for a jog.  The gal in Louisville.  and a couple more.  People are fed up. Nothing has been done.

If I were a cop, I would want a body cam on me.  Every time I go into a situation, that camera turns on and records.  The technology is there.  It doesn't cost a fortune.  Why hasn't this been done?

Instead of racism now we have copism.

The immediate reaction to being approached by an "authority" in uniform is not good.  There are so many videos out there regarding cops being thugs/creeps/ect. and so many people have had unjustified issues with troopers and cops, that people are immediately freaked out by them.  I know my daughter had one force a very odd and uncomfortable "interview" on her, and she won't pull over for them until she has someone on the phone that knows exactly where she is.  She won't pull over immediately on the side of the road, she'll make them follow her to a convenience store or someplace where there are plenty of people.  Cops don't want to understand this, but they might as well get used to it.

A few years ago several kids were playing a game that is much like a scavenger hunt in a small town around Springfield. It was late at night and one place where they had to go was the park close to a police station. Well the police caught a group of them there, 3 teams of two. The kids explained what they were doing and the cops were fine with the game but told the kids it was too late so game over. All of them needed to get back to their cars and head home. Home for all 6 at that moment was my house. When only 5 showed up I went to find the 6th. He was still in the small town sitting on the curb while the only two cops working in that town that night were searching his car and seemed disgusted when they couldn't find anything. After I arrived he was almost immediately allowed to leave. Yes they knew who I was but the also knew who the kid was too. I'll give you one guess what was different about this kid than the other five that were at my house. Or all the other kids that were part of this game that also didn't get pulled over to be searched.

I took a lot of pictures of this kid playing HS basketball. Taking pics I would often be close enough to hear what the players were saying to each other. Some of it was hilarious. But I don't know how many times I heard this kid called the N word. And it wasn't from any other black kids. Even the refs and coaches and schools would let it slide. You can't change stupid people.

For years the KCMO police department has said they didn't have the funding. Had a foundation step up this week and make it happen.

Just read where the Louisville Metro PD has implemented this now too in response to Breonna Taylor incident.  Seems like a step in the right direction.  Sure like it better than thoughts and prayers and empty speeches.

I reckon they won't work very well or very long, most cops apparently don't want their actions recorded. Most of the departments that bought cams a few years ago had lots of "failures".

Good for her. Even if the cop in a given instance is a good guy, you can never be sure that the car is really a cop car. That mass shooter in Canada a couple months back was disguised as RCMP and had his car disguised. We'd all be better off if this action of driving to the nearest safe place before stopping was universal.

They are all "good guys" until they aren't.  I've had a bad day with "good cops" 3 different times.   It's the luck of the draw.

Y'all know what a smartass I can be, and nothing brings it out of me quicker than a cop with an attitude for what IMO is not a good reason.   Things go from bad to worse really quickly when I am forced to be polite and cooperative when I am messed with unjustifiably.   Admittedly it has never worked out in my favor....but I just don't have it in me to kiss butt when I shouldn't have to.

The best thing to do when a cop is "having a bad day" on you, is to play deaf, dumb, and blind.  Keep your freakin' mouth shut.... because he's gonna do what he wants anyway, and you aren't going to reason with him.   But that's advice that I can only express in words.....I can't demonstrate it.  Ever! 😏
