Protesters can carry as long as they are on your side. The only thing I saw was a shotgun microphone. Those pussies should stay in their mansion.

Even though I agree with you on this case, people are starting to get fed up with this Protesting  nonsense.

edited: they are finding out new info about this situation every hour. Some say they tore the 120’year old iron gate. Pictures from the scene seem quite menacing actually

I was fed up with it before it even really started. Nothing good ever seems to come from a protest these days.

As a photographer I can guarantee you that if I was taking pictures of a protest they would be menacing. I actually almost went to a protest in KC for that reason. I did not care what they were protesting about. I have chosen no side. But as a photographer I felt the desire to take pictures of a protest. But taking pictures of people just holding signs or yelling into a bull horn are boring. A masked protester clashing with others would be much more. In the end I really didn't care to take the time to do it.

Side note: I have to quit this thought of going anywhere I want to take a picture. One of these days I'm going to put myself in a really bad situation. Like last Wednesday when I took this.

East STL gets a bad rap, but we used to go through there twice a week and never had any problems.  South Memphis was way scarier.  Chicago (Joliet) is another one that you always hear about, as far as being a good place to get kilt.  Seemed reasonably tame to me.

Well, if you just ain't scairt you won't be scairt in any of those places. As a young sailor, I spent about  three months of Liberties in Boston's "Combat Zone" and never realized it wasn't just another place until I read about it in the newspapers. Maybe I was just lucky or maybe the media exaggerated things. In the 15 or so times we went to Memphis, I thought we had seen about all of it at least once, but I reckon we must have missed the  " way scarier" section.

I guess since trespassing is ok during a protest it should plenty fine while fishing.  Time to hit all those purple painted creeks!!  Just make sure you take a camera so you can take pictures of the property owners With their guns and post them to the news sites.

I've been in all those places in daylight and about midnight.  Not a single problem even one time.  If you're lookin for trouble you can find it easy enough.  If you're not, you're not as likely to find it.  And that's based on being in a lot of good and "bad" places on four continents.  So.  You're right, mostly.
