Members T.C. Posted July 17, 2020 Members Posted July 17, 2020 I sold my 02 Triton SF 21 two years ago after enjoying it on Bull Shoals for over 10 years. I am now back in the market to buy a new/used bass boat to use on Table Rock. I am currently looking at the Crestliner XFC 189 and the Xpress X19 Pro bass boat. Since I've never had an aluminum boat I'm looking for any advice on these or other aluminum boats. The other option I'm considering is a Nitro Z18 Pro. Wanting to keep my purchase under $40k if possible. Thanks for any advice.
Members JMCat Posted July 17, 2020 Members Posted July 17, 2020 I have been in an X19 and they sure are nice. I would definitely get the 200HP SHO. The one i fish out of has a 175 and he always says he should have went with the 200. Super wide deck and lots of room. I wouldn't mind having one.
Dutch Posted July 17, 2020 Posted July 17, 2020 The Xpress has lift and rides like a glass boat. When you fish it is tippy like most aluminums.
aarchdale@coresleep.com Posted July 17, 2020 Posted July 17, 2020 Ive been in an X19 and they are awesome but if you plan on fishing big lakes i say get the glass, they do everything a little better except bumping into trees and beaching mixermarkb 1
bferg Posted July 17, 2020 Posted July 17, 2020 I am not as familiar with Crestliner but if I was going to buy an Aluminum boat I would definitely start by looking at pad hull boats. I believe the Xpress is a pad hull, so is the new Ranger "p" versions. I don't believe the Crestliner has a pad hull.
fishinwrench Posted July 17, 2020 Posted July 17, 2020 40k is alot to spend on a boat and still feel like you have to compromise. Why not spend 20k apiece and buy 2 ? Or 10k apiece and buy 4? That way you have the perfect boat for whatever type of fishing you choose to do at the time. wily and top_dollar 2

Gotta be honest. I have a flat bottom jet and when I see them them on Taney I have to hit the brakes😆

I went through that decision but at the $20k level. I’m not a boat mechanic and I told you I wanted plug and play when I finally get to go. Nothing worse than boat issues when you’re ready to go so new seems to solve that issue up front at least. I think a lot of guys feel this way.
