Her husband built her a Storm Shelter. She got in it one time found she couldn’t get back out. She is always saying if we have a bad storm come over and get in their Shelter. I could see me and her not able to get out. oneshot

I like my .22 break barrel air rifle. Pick one brand of pellet and stick to it. Gavin what model air rifle are you shooting?
Gavin Posted December 15, 2020 Posted December 15, 2020 It's a Benjamin/Crossman nitro piston .22 ($200 range). Johnsfolly 1

This right here will save you a ton of money and frustration, and it's something that I just recently figured out.  Testing 14 different pellets trying to find THE ONE THAT SHOOTS BEST is a giant crock of BS.  As long as it is a quality pellet and you shoot enough for the barrel rifling to get "leaded up", and for all of the oil to get blown out of the gun.....it will shoot accurate enough IF YOU DO YOUR PART RIGHT.  I can't even tell you how much time and money I have wasted TEST SHOOTING pellets and comparing groups.  After about 50-75 shots with almost ANY pellet, your groups will tighten up substantially. Wait until that happens before "sighting in". That's the one little thing about Airguns that you'll never hear or read about.....but I've learned is 100% fact.  And if your accuracy goes to hell after awhile....it is NOT because of the pellet, it's something else. (Loose screw, bad scope, loose scope mount, one too many drops of oil, ect.) laker67, Daryk Campbell Sr and Gavin 2 1
jdmidwest Posted December 16, 2020 Posted December 16, 2020 Is it the barrel getting leaded up or the piston setting in to get to normal? Everything needs a break in period to settle down if spring loaded. I had a Stoeger break in and shoot well. Then, one day, I missed a shot I should have made. Set up a bench and a target and started trouble shooting. It had stripped a screw in the forearm and was torquing weird when it discharged. It went back under warranty and was replaced. Never had an issue with the new one. I feel like the biggest accuracy improvement comes after you get all the oil blown out, and the rifling gets a decent amount of lead transfered to it.  Obviously the POWER increases some after the piston seal seats, but I doubt that effects accuracy much. I have put those blue Australian piston seals on both of my break barrel guns with a very thin coat of Moly, and it gave both of them a 30-40fps boost immediately, that hasn't changed one bit in over 1000+ shots. Those piston seals are the bomb! The standard "doughnut type" seals are junk IMO.  The only thing they do, and I think it's the reason why the manufacturers still use them, is they leak enough that it doesn't self destruct if you dry fire it.  But the blue solid seals definitely make the gun pack a punch.
Gavin Posted December 16, 2020 Posted December 16, 2020 You guys are way more into the airgun stuff...Used to shoot competition archery with my Dad...He was way deep in the weeds with it, but he taught me to shoot the same thing, same way every time. Do it the same, same it is easier to figure out what is wrong. Do have a CharliedTuna replacement trigger in my popgun. Was worth it...Gonna pass on the blue gun piston seals...Mine is doing fine as is, right now...Do not want to change a thing. fishinwrench 1

Mike Sometimes, a little work with a honing stone will work wonders on a trigger. Most production triggers are rough machined messes. But Charlie da Tuna makes some good ones for the springers. I have swapped out all of my triggers on the AR's I own with either low power springs from JT or alternative trigger groups. Makes a difference.
